Overview
Quinta do Galgo is an ancient stone house surrounded by nature, with a large outdoor pool. Its location in the Cávado Valley makes it a good base for walking tours. The 4 charming apartments have stone walls, wooden stairs or balconies and a cottage feel. They all include a fully equipped kitchen, a private bathroom and a lounge area with sofas. All except one offer a stone fireplace. Guests of Quinta do Galgo can relax in the games room with a game of billiards or table tennis. The Quinta’s staff can organize horse-back trips to the Castle of Lanhoso. The Quinta is located just 7 km from Braga and 25 km from the Peneda-Gerês National Park.

Carlos was very welcoming and a helpful host.The apartment was clean and there was enough cooking utensils in the kitchen to make a short stay comfortable. The pool was really lovely and the gardens are beautiful. We would come back.

“Quiet comfortable house”
Lovely quiet comfortable house in the middle of nowhere. Kitchen was adequately stocked so we were able to cook. Lovely to have a wood burner especially as so cold and wet outside.

“lovely country setting and friendly hostess”
the hostess was extremely friendly and helpful - she gave us suggestions of places for meals and even gave us loads of fresh eggs for our breakfast and some port to taste. One of us even enjoyed a quick dip in the pool before leaving.

“ideal family retreat”
it was cosy. everything in our room worked… shower was great! there was a playground area for kids, pool, lots of trees and a hens coop on the edge of the grounds. The host went over and beyond to orientate us on arrival and make us comfortable. He was friendly, helpful and helped us figure out logistics.

When we arrived the fire was already lit, big bonus on how friendly they are and accommodating, definitely be back for a longer stay. Dog friendly. 🐕 great birthday weeksnd away.. Even brought us some home made wine and jam.. Thank you Highly recommend
