Pool, nice location, very close to hanging bridge, only 15 minutes by foot!

“Welcoming and nice guesthouse”

Great communication from the host. Lovely room, very spacious. Great to have use of the shared fridge and we had a nice breakfast of rolls, cheese, ham and scrambled egg. The pool was nice - we didn't use it although we did spend a little time sat next to it at the end of the afternoon.

Perfect distance from the 516 suspension bridge, within 20 minutes of walking. Great restaurant nearby too, very friendly and very tasty food at reasonable price. We were able to turn up early too and leave our luggage!!! Nice scrambled eggs for breakfast 😋

Quinta de Alvarenga is located in a peaceful location, with gorgeous views. It's a 15 minute walk from the Arouca 516 Bridge, making it the perfect place if you're looking to experience the suspended bridge and the Paiva walkways. The room and bathroom were clean and well presented, and the bed was very comfortable. The communal kitchen and dining room were equally clean and organised. All of the staff that we interacted with were very friendly and helpful.

Great location and very convenient if you plan to walk the Arouca Bridge. Friendly, helpful staff and very safe area with parking - although a narrow entrance road..

I didn't like it at all because the room is next to a stream and there was a lot of water flowing and it was very noisy.

“Perfect location: relaxing, clean and welcoming.”

We chose Quinta de Alvarenga as we were visiting the Arouca suspension bridge. The house exceeded all our expectations - location was perfect, pool was great, room very comfortable. Being able to cook our own dinner was fantastic, and the provided breakfast was great.

“An excellent guest house”

The location was ideal as we wanted to walk the arouca 516. It is only 10 to 15 mins walk away. Also the setting is really pretty. The village is close by with a good choice of cafes and a really good restaurant. The breakfast was good, and I wasn't expecting freshly cooked delicious scrambled eggs. Also if the weather had been better I would have taken advantage of the lovely pool and jacuzzi. I would definitely stay again. The rooms are clean and comfortable and downstairs are a range of sitting areas.

Cosy place with nice pool. Excellent breakfast and nice people.

The breakfast was good although took a long time for the eggs to be served. Great location for a wine tour. Timing was unfortunate with staffing challenges, however, Beatrix was very friendly and works hard.

“Nice overnight stay”

Didn't get to use the swimming pool but it looked great. Comfortable bed and pleasant room with necessary amenities. Breakfast was really good with many options and served on the spot. The location is absolutely great to visit the Bridge and Passadiços do paiva. Walking distance to the bridge. Also some restaurants within walking distance.

“Comfortable living near the 516 Arouca Bridge”

The breakfast was very varied and tasty, and the nature around the house was beautiful. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the 516 Arouca Bridge, and you will arrive on the Alvarenga side. It was nice to be able to use the pool after walking around the Arouca National Park.

Thank you for a wonderful stay! We LOVE this house-apartment concept, we really felt like at home +we met interesting people while had a breakfast. There is as small waterfall nearby the house, so sleeping with it's quiet sound was like a lullaby. After breakfast we went to the "Arouca Bridge 516" and also did the Paiva walkway. The owner Isabel was very kind by letting us to leave our car in house parking (we didn't stay second night) so we could walk like from our own house to the Bridge and Paiva Walkway. Definitely love this place!

“Good option for a countryside stay.”

A big villa that offers all you need for your stay at a Portuguese village: cozy rooms, comfortable (shared) living room and kitchen, a (not heated) pool, private parking. Located very close to the famous bridge and walking distance to two or three restaurants. The room we had offered a nice view and peaceful sound of a stream. We loved the breakfast!

The location was super and the weather was at our hand. Location is perfect (20 minute walk) for crossing the paiva gorge with the famous suspension bridge (570 m lang and 175 m in the sky).
