“Hidden treasure in the forest with amazing home made food”

Beautiful and serene escape nestled deep in the forest. Although accessible only by a small road, reaching it was no problem at all. The setting is absolutely magical. The food was just amazing for my husband and I, both vegetarians, we had delicious options that truly impressed us. The staff were mainly local women with big smiles who made us feel welcome and cared. We found it to be excellent value for money, especially with the generous buffet-style meals, that again we truly enjoyed :) The house red wine was dry and very enjoyable.

Excellent peaceful vibes, great staff, neatly done rooms, lovely buffet (vegetarian options included), quiteness and nature all around, yard equipped with hammocks to stare at skies and neighboring hills of all colors of autumn, lovely cats and dogs (and friendly - our dog never had an issue), hiking route in proximity.

The retreat is a very tastefully renovated traditional Romanian house, the room was very very cozy and clean. The staff were super welcoming, including the house cats and dogs. The food was great. I had a wonderful time and I hope to be back soon

Absolutely wonderful! We arrived late and staff kindly waited for us, served us a fresh delicious dinner from all natural ingredients, then had a hot tub in the local ciubar with salt (the water wasn't as warm as fire got started late, but we continued the fire and eventually we enjoyed it). Lovely atmosphere and yard, green all around, with hammocks and places to sit and relax, steps away the Alunis stone caved church (really recommend spending time praying and meditating inside, it was my favorite cave / stone based place in the area). Very peaceful and intimate, wish we stayed more. When we came back after check out as we needed a place with wifi for a work call, Iulia the owner was super kind to let us stay and work for a couple of hours, even offered us a snack for the road! Thank you so much Alunis retreat for the special moments, connection, hospitality, peace and beauty!! Wonderful people with a few projects in the area, also contributing to and maintaining local arts and traditions. Much respect.

Breakfast was very high quality, place is beautiful and well designed, high quality rooms with artistic touch.

This place is an unexpected gem for the area and seems to be one step towards rejuvenating the tourism in this area. The rooms are equiped minimally but comfortable, with private bathrooms, very clean. Here you may find the silence so much enjoyed by the city-runnaways, play with the dogs and cats in the yard and enjoy the so good cooked meals by the locals, directly on the spot. As we were here for exploring the nature around, we kind of kept the kitchen up very late (sorry for that), as there is no way for self catering. I would come back only for having indeed some days off, reading outside or just enjoying the yard and the food. This place really deserves the title of retreat, thumbs up for that!

The retreat is located literally at the edge of a forest so its really quiet and tranquil. Still you have all the nice things a major hotel would, like comfy bed, nice and clean bathroom, well decorated room in a traditional-modern mix. In addition there is a large yard and plenty of spots to chill-out. We especially enjoyed the breakfast locally made by the most charming ladies. There are lots of vegetarian options too.
