“A perfect 5 days in Altea”

What an amazing 5 days! I booked this stay on account of the location, the quirky nature of the property and the glowing reviews of Georg’s hospitality - and none disappointed! Upon arrival in Altea Georg collected me at the bus stop and took me to his place on his Tiktuk. We arrived at the stunning guesthouse in the best location in town and he showed me round. There is a full kitchen to use with fridge space, appliances, spices, cooking oils, cutlery, crockery and glasses and a dining table that seats 8 (I think!), although I preferred to eat on the roof terrace. The room was clean and cool in late May but has the benefit of air conditioning if travelling during the hotter months. The room is decorated in a very personal way with handpicked accessories decorating the room. The bed was comfortable and everything worked well. The bathroom had a very decent selection of toiletries and the shower was powerful and easy to control both temperature and pressure. The lighting was excellent for doing make up - I am often let down by this in other establishments. There are 2 terraces to enjoy: the front terrace is a cute shaded area with beautiful flowers and a bistro set, I sat here with Georg for an hour one evening as his neighbours passed by for a chat. The 2nd terrace is on the roof, which has panoramic views of mountains and sea as well as the higher part of the city and its beautiful church. I spent as much time as I could up here, my favourite time being when the sun was lower and a breeze came in from the sea. Watching the birds fly over the sea and listening to the distant church bells with a glass of wine is just heavenly. Georg couldn’t do enough for me, he helped me with dining recommendations, where to buy fresh fruit and veg, fresh bread and groceries and was also available for a chat whenever we crossed paths.

“Cozy, inviting, welcoming”

Georg is one of those rare finds in this world. Hes beyond accommodating, genuine, germanily authentic, will sit down with you for a wine and hear your life story, and offer you his homemade soup after a long journey to get there. The rooms are spotless and the beds are so comfortable. The rooftop terrace is a zen moment. I’d absolutely would love to come back here in a heartbeat.

What can I say beautiful location, in the heart of a.traditional Spanish Town. With the added bonus of the sea so close by. Very attentive host simply could not do enough for you, would stay again.

The conviviality of the host with all the guests. The lovely and relaxed atmosphere. The good coffee machine available at all times. The extra touches of comfort. The beautiful roof terrace and also the private patio which is so peaceful.

A perfect location in heart of the old town. Great restaurants and wine bars close enough to be an easy stroll but not close enough to destroy the peace of the beautiful rooftop garden with 360° of far reaching views of mountains, sea and the Church of Saints Maria. George was the perfect host.

We have just returned home after five lovely days in Altea. Staying at Guest House Bellaguarda has been fantastic. George is an incredibly pleasant and service-minded host who goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. We had the pleasure of being picked up in his small tuk-tuk when we arrived at the train station in Altea, and driven at night to the bus stop on our way to the airport. We highly recommend a room in George's house if you want a beautiful location central in the old part of the city, quiet surroundings, a cozy atmosphere and fantastic evenings on the roof terrace. We are already planning our next trip to Altea this winter, to visit family, and will definitely try to get a room at George's again (Guest House Bellaguarda). Maria & Dag-Runar

“Cozy place with a stunning rooftop terrace”

The apartment is really nice and cozy, in a quiet area . George is a really nice and caring host. The rooftop provides amazing 360 views of the sea, old town and the mountains. 10 mins walk to the old town.

“Homely stay in the heart of art village”

Absolutely wonderful location, walking distance to beach, old Town, shops and cafés. We could visit the house many times during the day while walking around to refresh, as the location is very central. Host is very welcoming and helpful. The house has amazing roof terrace with sea view, well equipped kitchen with all the amenities and lovely artsy homely vibe. The room was comfortable and spacious. It was very quite despite being in the town. We had a good mix of hotel privacy and hospitality for house guests :) there is a parking very close by on the street or public carpark, free of charge.

Absolutely everything. The decor, air conditioning, confortable bed, gorgeous 360 terrace with view on the city / the Mediterranean. Georg the host is super nice and attentive. The house is perfectly located, short walking distance to the beach / city center.

George is an amazing host, nothing was too much trouble, we even had a ride in his tuk-tuk. The location was excellent everything is very accessible just be aware that it involves many steps and is very hilly, but the trade off is some amazing views. We would definitely return.

I never book a property without reviews so took a risk booking Georg’s place as it looked so nice! I needn’t have worried as it was absolutely beautiful! The Villa Bellaguarda was freshly decorated and everything was super comfortable and perfect. As lovely as the house was Georg such a fantastic host, from answering all my questions prior to arriving, Georg was very friendly and responsive and gave me all of the necessary information, and made sure that my stay was comfortable and memorable. He also prepared some incredible dishes that I’ll never forget…. The guest house is charming and peaceful with beautiful rooms and a great kitchen. Great location with many walk into Altea in the old town which hosts lots of delicious restaurants and lovely bars and not far from the beach (10 min. walk).

Nothing, everything was perfect for my purpose of being in Altea This place is perfect for those who want to stay in a quiet and charming area. The rooms were lovely, with comfortable beds, private bathrooms, and toilets. There were two living rooms, one with a cozy fireplace. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need to cook, no matter what you wish to make. The wonderful terrace with a sea view is a gem, and in the evening, you can enjoy a postcard-like view with the illuminated church. There are also sunbeds, seating areas for dining and relaxing, as well as a fireplace and grill facilities. This place is perfect for those who want to stay in a quiet and charming area. I hesitated to write this review because I wanted to keep this place a secret for myself. However, more people should experience this gem. I give this place 10/10 points and add a 10+! Then you have the host Georg that is so helpful and makes you feel so welcome 11/10
