The apartment was okay for a short stay, but it definitely needs some attention. We noticed several areas that were looking a bit tired or needed maintenance to bring them up to standard.

Sea view. Good access

“Gated community few facilities,”

Imagine ending up here with a family. It is a compound in the shape of a compact village and narrow streets and everything on top of each other. Even in this quiet April season, parking was sometimes very difficult and I would not have been able to drive out of the street without all my modern sensors and on-board cameras.It is also -what the Americans call- a "gated community". In and out is only possible with keys or remote control. The landlord had to come to the gate. Within this "holiday camp" there were no bars, restaurants or shops and no access to the beach. Then you had to go by car. A few hundred meters down hill there was a harbor, but the landlord warned that the way back was steep and difficult. The man was right and I did not get far. The view is of the bare rocks. For flatlanders like us that is of course also beautiful "nature". On the far right a piece of sea. On the left below you looked at the children playing on the balconies of the next compound below. And so the whole coast here is full of that kind of compounds.. There was also no lounge chair on the small balcony (small) of this apartment and that is a good thing, because the air conditioning unit sends its heat low on that same balcony. Well... it was a bargain... and the bed was ok.

“Nice host, nice view, very good stay in Altea”

Vicente was very helpful and nice, very reactive to the messages. He gave us good addresses of restaurants around Altea. The view from the apartment was stunning and the residence very nice with the 3 pools. Vicente is a very nice host, we really appreciate the fact that he came to welcome us and came to say goodbye and ask if everything was fine.

“Amazing stay”

As frequent travelers to Spain (for rock climbing) we have experienced a various quality of accommodation, and we have to say: our stay at Mascarat was the best one, by far. 🙂 Starting from very nice private location, via the stunning view from terrace towards the sea coast and rock cliffs, to the very modern, clean and well equipped apartment (Netflix/HBO on the biggest TV screen you can ever imagine 🙂). Moreover, Vicente is super friendly host, taking care of his guests a lot above the standard. We will definitely be back next time we visit Costa Brava location again.
