Our host Francesco was the nicest person we met our voyage through Italy. He organized a bus connection when there were no trains, went us to a nice place for breakfast and helped us in any way we could ask for. The accommodation is in a medieval historic building with meter-thick walls but modernized interior, and worth a trip on its own right. For us, Altamura was a perfect base to visit this town and Matera in the south.
