Gorgeous spot on ometepe - really lovely clean & spacious rooms, beautiful location on the beach front and great food in the restaurant. However the best thing about this place has to be the staff - they honestly made the stay for me and could not have been more helpful and lovely! I was met with such a warm welcome and provided with lots of information about the island which was super helpful as I was also travelling alone. Special mention to Karina who I cannot speak more highly about she is the absolute best ❤️ She really helped me with a couple of issues I had during my time in ometepe and went above and beyond what any hotel staff would ever do. As a solo female traveller this really meant a lot to me that she was so caring when I was having a difficult time with a few things. I will always remember that so thank you Karina for being so attentive and kind to me!! I really recommend Xali for a more luxurious stay on the island but still for a good price. I knew I didn’t want to stay in any tents or rooms that weren’t enclosed due to a fear of any animals/insects in my room which is renowned on ometepe so I’m glad I went for this hotel! It’s easy to get around on a scooter or quad bike (just be careful!) so the location worked for me and was really close to some of my fave spots like zopilote for yoga, el pital for food, and playa mango’s for the beautiful sunset! I would also recommend the waterfall hike and one of the two volcanoes if the visibility is good that day. Over all a great stay here but the staff at Xali were the highlight for me. A very nice little resort right by the water in the middle of Ometepe Island. Comfortable and well-equipped apartments. I would like to mention Carlos at reception—he helped us a lot and took good care of us.

The room was very comfortable and clean and the shared bathroom was cleaned daily. The AC was great, and it was a luxury to have hot water in the shower. The location was beautiful and quiet and the hammocks and seating areas were lovely to relax.

Very comfortable bed. Good WiFi. The guy on reception was particularly helpful and friendly- they sent us useful information as soon as we'd booked which was handy. Hot water in the shower was a nice change. My husband enjoyed the pool table.

“Perfect choice for a stay on Ometepe”

The staff could not have been more helpful and were so friendly. The location was quiet and peaceful and room was perfect. Beautiful gardens and loved relaxing in the hammocks!

We decided to treat ourselves after staying in hostels for a while and this was a welcomed treat! The hot water shower was beautiful and the staff were super friendly. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities were really clean.

Great place. Lovely warm staff, clean spacious rooms, hammocks to laze about in, comfortable reception/lounge/restaurant area (and strangely the only place I’ve found in Nicaragua that has reasonably priced wine!). Tried to extend my stay but they were booked out.

“A very beautiful relaxing peaceful friendly hotel right on the lake!”

Xalli is quite unique offering lovely simple rooms some with terrace & hammocks in a great location .The garden is very beautiful with lot’s of huge mature trees and plants. Perfect for listening and watching the exotic birds. There are also very friendly dogs and a gorgeous cat. There’s a path straight to the lake for swimming in the warm wavy water. Best of all the staff are very friendly and helpful especially Carlos the manager!

“Lovely hotel in the middle of the island”

Very nice setting, overlooking the lake, and since the hotel is in the middle of the island, it's easy to strike out in both directions. Very helpful staff, who gave us lots of great recommendations based on how long we were staying. The bigger rooms are really nice and airy, so would recommend those. We were able to swap from a smaller room to a bigger one, which was a great move

“Felt at home immediately”

Brilliant staff, excellent food selection. Carlos is a joy to chat with - he thrives on making you feel at home. Overall, it feels like the perfect spot for a getaway from the noisy city life. They have very cute and friendly animals at the hotel. If you are lucky, you will wake up to a four-legged visitor on your terrace.

Xalli Beach Hotel was incredible! The power was out on the island and they made sure we were looked after. They next morning we woke up to a message asking what we would like for breakfast, which was then bought to the room. The staff were super friendly and talked to us throughout our stay. The room was incredibly comfortable and clean - could not recommend this hotel enough!

“Incredible stay on Ometepe Island”

The staff were incredible & willing to go above & beyond to assist us. Carlos in particular was super friendly, helpful & was very transparent in his communication. The staff helped with our transfers to/from the ferry port as well as organising motorcycle hire. The rooms were very comfortable with air-conditioning, ample space as well as a clean & cosy bed.

The location, the staff, the breakfast, the mellow beach a few steps away from the hotel room. It was all incredible:) all the staff were wonderful but special shout out to Karina at the front desk, she was seriously EXCEPTIONAL. I would trust her with my life jaja.
