What a gem. Super quiet location (good for hiking (several trailheads in walking and short driving distance) and for exploring Alta), nice and cozy rooms, spotless clean, incredible service, absolutely lovely and well trained staff, amazing food.

The staff was so nice and helpful, ready to accomodate any needs we had travelling with a 2 year old. Everything was perfect for our stay and prepared in advance so we knew what to expect.

We spent one night in the igloo hotel and the next two nights in the main hotel. The interiors were beautiful, with natural materials and a cosy fireplace. The whole stay felt like a dream. The staff were wonderful and everything was spotlessly clean.

Great location, very confortable rooms and beds. Except the airing in the bathrooms that was to strong and kept pulling cold air from underneath the bathroom door. But this is really an only minor issue. Great place actually quite extraordinary.

“EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT !!! 💯”

We loved everything about Sorrisniva and our stay. It was even beyond our expectations. And we did have some expectations. Everything was perfect ! The greet for welcoming, all the staff members, the restaurant, the activities and guides for those activities, the lobby where you can comfortably chill by the fire with hot cup of tea and a book and enjoy the beautiful view on the river and mountains... We loved the cosy vibe everywhere, the rooms were perfect, very clean, comfortable, nicely furnitured, beautiful and big bathroom, the big windows really give you this privileged feeling to be part of the wilderness of beautiful Northern Norway while being warm and cosy in your bed or chair with hot blankets... And if you're lucky enough to see some Aurora Borealis/Northern Lights, the terrasse by the room or the big windows, will allow you to witness them first hand while still be comfortably installed in your room ! Definitely will recommend to everyone I know and consider coming back myself as soon as I can ! Thank You !!!

“Almost a week in the middle of nature and polar lights for a relaxing experience”

Everything was superb! A charming experience. From the warm welcoming and fresh support of the whole staff to the little details of a perfect environment to get some quality relaxing time in the middle of the nature. The hotel has a la carte breakfast and lunch service plus a evening gourmet restaurant if you don't want to drive. The place is super clean and quite, perfectly integrated in the nature of the area surrounded by rocks, rivers, trees and scattering polar lights, which one could even see from the big window of the room. Sauna and massages complete the offer, although they might be not always available depending on the period of the year. Tons of other outdoor activities, we didn't take, but the offer was really huge. Parking is open air with a couple of EV charging stations, they courtesy offer to their guests. Food is delicious and the wine choice abundant. You can even ask to arrange some meal in particular with the kitchen, they are willing to ear your request from one day for the next, for example. Free coffee, tea and water in the hallway as well in the room, which was clean and with a huge stylish bathroom with proper lighting. Alta downtown is some 20mins driving, otherwise in the direct surroundings nothing but nature and hike trails.

“Saw northern lights from the room”

Such a beautiful property. Very luxurious but at same time very cozy and welcoming. We were there 2 nights and on both the nights saw the northern lights from our room itself. Such an amazing experience. The breakfast was too good. Staff was very friendly and nice. They suggested good treks to do nearby. A superb experience overall

Rooms and facilities were great, view from the rooms was amazing! The hotel has a relaxed, calm vibe. Food was delicious. Staff was very helpful and kind. Would definitely visit again.

“Excellent hospitality”

The service levels were exceptional by Norweigian standards! The staff were very receptive to our requests including going out of their way to ensure that our vegetarian dietary requirements were taken care of. The location is fabulous on the banks of the river alta and each room has great views. The activities were well organised and highly recommended. Hope to come back in the winters at some point.

We had the privilege of spending a night at Sorrisniva Arctic Wilderness Lodge, and it was truly an enjoyable experience. Nestled along the banks of a serene river, the lodge offers a perfect blend of luxury and untouched wilderness. The architecture and interior design are stunning, with large panoramic windows that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, where you might even spot a fox or two, if you stay up late like me. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, the kind of place where you instantly feel at peace. Dinner at Maku Restaurant was an absolute highlight. We were looked after by Lotta, who guided us through the entire meal with warmth and exceptional attention to detail. In fact, the staff throughout the lodge were warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Although the stay was short, it left a lasting impression. We wholeheartedly recommend Sorrisniva Arctic Wilderness Lodge to anyone seeking a unique and serene Arctic getaway where refined comfort meets raw natural beauty.

“A luxury winter holiday destination!”

Chose Sorrisniva for our first ever trip to Norway in Winter holiday. And It didn’t disappoint! The location is ideal, tucked away from the city life. Just nature around. A lot of activities to do and all tours are very well organized with good quality equipment and rentals. The staff is multinational and polite. Rooms are spacious and clean. Two restaurants, food is delicious! Enough around you to keep you busy… and appreciate nature and togetherness. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay ☺️ Thankyou for the incredible hospitality!

“Stunning hotel, fabulous staff!”

A simply wonderful stay here. Rooms are beautifully designed and luxurious. The hotel itself, stylish, classy and comfortable. Both restaurants are wonderful and offer simply outstanding food, with incredible local produce. The tours we undertook (dog sledding, reindeer/Sami experience) were great fun and so informative. Cannot recommend this hotel enough for those wanting a luxurious break in the stunning arctic countryside. And we saw the Northern Lights! Special mention to Petros on the front desk who was as welcoming, helpful and informative as any front of house person I have ever encountered - even coming to alert us about the N Lights! A wonderful ambassador for this outstanding resort hotel.
