The online reviews did not reflect the true conditions.

The building itself and location were very good, the garden was pleasant, a nice place to sit and enjoy summer. Breakfast is served in a room that is tired, untidy and scruffy. Attention to detail is an issue here as elsewhere in the property. A great shame as there is a lot of potential for real improvement, all it requires is someone to notice and care.

Tranquil, welcoming and comfortable.

We were greeted on arrival by Tea and home made biscuits, next to a prepared log fire. The Bedroom was very spacious and quirkily decorated, just right. The Bathroom was Well proportioned and warm. Breakfast was excellent with local produce.

Spectacular spot

Love the place, a beautiful building and an incredibly comfortable bed. Great location that looks beautiful in both winter and spring. Stayed here for NYE and then immediately booked again to come in April.

We had a great weekend at Stanshope Hall and it provided the perfect base for walking in the Peak District.

It is very comfortable and the interior decor is unique and beautiful, with hand-painted wallpaper in several rooms. The property is very old and full of character.

Peaceful comfortable stay .

An absolutely quirky beautiful country house . The location is stunning so peaceful just the sound of birds and sheep and the odd pheasant. The house is not modern so do not expect all the mod cons but it makes up for it in its homely quirky manner . The staff here are delightful .On arrival we were greeted and treated to afternoon tea in the lounge near a log fire . Breakfast is lovingly prepared and fresh ingredients used . A delightful place . Also must not forget that the bed was so comfy in our room. A most enjoyable stay would definatly stay again if in the area .

Excellent definitely go back again soon!

Unfortunately we missed breakfast! Our fault we were so comfy we slept in!! We were woken up with a gentle knock on our door which I answered with a lovey host asking if we still wanted breakfast! We declined as it was late but I know for sure if we had said yes it wouldn’t have been any problem!!!
