Great value for money, amazing distance for hiking and the apartment had everything we needed

“Basic small room with everything you need (except linens and towels) in an excellent location”

Great location in Compatch in Alpi di Siusi. It is called Residence Scialiar on left entrance , but main entrance is in the center of the building. It is called Scuola di Sci (Italian) and Skischule Seiser Alm (German) on Google Maps. Easy to find (exit the cable car and go left on the road uphill to the highest building. Very quiet. Wonderful to be there after the Siusi Seis cable car closes at 7 pm and almost all the tourists are gone. (Most of the other cable cars up in Alpi di Siusi close at 5 pm.) Nice and cool weather at 6,000 ft elevation. Room temperature was great (you can open the window to let cool air in. A heater fan that can be set to fan only is in the closet. Don't need AC. Strong wifi signal. Sleeps 3 people, although it is a very small room and would be crowded. It was fine with two people. Ladder to the top bunk is in the closet, as well as pillows and blankets.) But you must bring your own towel and sheets (you can NOT rent them). Couch folds out into a double bed. A 2.5 x 2.5 ft table folds down from the shelves. Chairs are in closet. Clean bathroom with small shower stall. Has a small refrigerator, stovetop, pots and pans, dishes, and utensils. No oven or microwave. Small retro European style coffee maker you heat with the stovetop hob. Room was clean. Did not smell musty like some reviews said (but they do have an ozonizer room air cleaner in the room that we did not need to use). Building has a nice lobby, childrens play area, a ping pong table and a nice sauna you can use for free. There is a restaurant in the building that serves pizza and other things (I think it opens June 28). Several other restaurants in the area. There is as very small grocery store in Compatch by the bus stop that closes at 5 pm. The photo is the BACK side of the building from a hiking trail above it (showing the view of Alpi di Siusi).

Pretty simple accommodation, location is great but be prepared for a crazy ride up - people with car sickness will not approve but that’s what you get for being on top of a mountain ;-) staff were short but I guess you can’t expect outstanding service at this price.

Name of property given on Booking.com is completely different from actual name. Had to call to make sure it was the correct property. It was also ridiculous that that an extra amount of 15 euros was required in order for the property to provide bed linen and towels.
