We had a wonderful time. It was a perfect place to stay. The host is excellent. She gave us some great information about places to eat and visit. We were there for just over 12 hours and yet managed to feel we’d been there for so much longer. The facilities were excellent. We loved all the extra glasses, the fridge, the additional food items. Very comfortable bed. Easy parking.

What a beautiful home and very friendly host, Nicola. I stayed here solo and had to leave around 5am, which was accommodated perfectly. The room was very comfortable and clean, with lots of nice little extra, the ground coffee and French press was an excellent touch. The location is very nice too, and I wish I could have spent more time there. Will 100% be back in the future!

Location is very good for access to town centre, castle and gardens. Oronsay has its own parking which was very welcome for our three motorcycles. Rooms were very comfortable. Although Oronsay does not provide breakfast, there was a very welcome coffee-maker and pastry in the room. Nicola's greeting was very friendly and she provided great advice on dining and good beers.

“A really lovely Guest House”

We received a very warm welcome from Nicola when we arrived. She showed us to our room (room 1) which was absolutely beautiful. Everything was so well thought out. An enormous comfortable bed, plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. It was lovely having a table and chairs in the bay window. The huge bathroom was immaculate with a lovely big shower. Everything we needed was provided: hair dryer, straighteners, clock, iron and ironing board and a little fridge to keep our milk and water cool. Nicola provided lots of lovely little extras too. Very nice products in the bathroom, bathrobes and slippers, fresh milk, bottles of water, crisps, biscuits, croissants and different teas and coffees. Nicola doesn’t provide meals but she recommended several places to eat. Barter Books which is just across the road just has to be visited and the breakfasts there are really good. Oronsay House is literally a 5 minute walk from Alnwick Castle and the beautiful Alnwick Gardens. And Alnmouth beach is literally a 5 mile drive away.

Great stay, perfect location and off street parking. And very close for a breakfast buttie in Barter Books.

It was lovely, very comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay 😊 The host was very welcoming and a folder was provided with all the information we needed, plus extra leaflets for places to eat or visit - very helpful! Would definitely stay again and recommend to family/friends 😊xx

“Our place to stay in Alnwick”

Excellent location, car park on site. Large bedroom and bathroom, lots of storage in both. Fridge in the room, not noisy. Filled with bottles of still and sparkling water, and milk. Different choices of tea, coffee and snacks. Hairdryer, ironing board and iron provided along with dressing gowns and slippers. Very hot weekend and thankfully a large tower fan was provided to keep cool. Loved the keypad combination code to gain entry into the house and into your room, saved carrying extra keys around while out. I will definitely be recommending Oronsay to family and friends

“Great Guesthouse”

We had a perfect stay here - the location is amazing, Nicola is helpful and warm, and the facilities were great. The mattress is huge and very comfortable, and the shower has good water pressure. The guesthouse is between the legendary Barter Books and Alnwick Centre, and everything was walkable for us from the local pubs to Alnwick Castle.
