The host met us on arrival and even left us a home baked cake which was delightful. The weather was unseasonably cold with daytime temperatures down to 5 degrees, but there was a log fire which we made use of in addition to central heating.

Cosy cottage ideal for a single traveller or couple. Complete with woodburning stove and range cooker. Debra, the owner had baked a delicious cake and left milk in the fridge. So I could have a quick cuppa before unpacking. She was very knowledgeable about places I might like to visit. I also followed her suggestions for places to eat. I was happily surprised when she brought over a bowl of first crop, home grown strawberries 🍓 😋. I believe that Debra was very keen for me to enjoy my stay and if I had any issues, I didn't, she would have happily resolved them for me.

Lovely little cottage for 2. The cottage had a cosy living room and kitchen. The bedroom was nice and big too. Ideally located and 10 minutes away from Alnwick. Perfect for an Easter gateway.

Placed very well for visiting Alnwick, Morpeth or anywhere in Northumberland for that matter. Nice and cosy with plenty of room for the two of us. A very well equipped kitchen and a nice spot in the courtyard to park your car.

Lovely, cosy cottage providing everything you could possibly need. Clean and comfortable, lovely big bath towels, lots of hot water and a pint of milk and a delicious cake for us on arrival. Our hostess, Debra, is a lovely friendly lady who keeps goats and chickens on her smallholding, so there are fresh eggs available. It's located on a fairly busy main road but the triple glazing at the front works so well you hardly notice. The location is good for Alnwick (castle, gardens) and Rothbury (Cragside, Simonside hills) and an easy run south to Morpeth and north to Wooler and the Scottish Borders. A good central location for walkers. I highly recommend Briar Cottage.

The cottage was absolutely perfect, everything at hand that we could want and gifts of fresh flowers and a homemade cake on arrival. Hosts were fantastic, very friendly, happy to give advice and also introduced us to some of the animals. Lovely location, some good walks around to test the legs. We got in a trip to see the puffins on the Farne Islands and also an evening a Kielder Observatory, 2 items ticked off my bucket list. Thank you so much for a fabulous break x

The cottage was lovely, everything that you would need. I went at Easter and the cottage had a few themed ornaments and I was treated to small Easter eggs, flowers, homemade cake and milk. Such a lovely touch. There was wood for the fire and central heating if needed. A lovely relaxing place to be!
