Absolute delight to stay a Kot Kailash. The host Pushkar is hands on and always available to assist. He knows the area in and out, he is a bird watcher too, and tells you interesting stories. The space was luxurious and clean. Food is super delicious too. Kot Kailash a must visit.

“Unique”

Kot Kailash exceeded my expectations in many ways. The location was beautiful. The staff excellent. The food was very good - home cooked and served with love. A special mention about the coffee and tea - both of which were par excellence. The rooms are prepared with care. They are furnished with lots of books and articles to provide the true Kumaoni touch. The staff went all out to make the stay comfortable and pleasing. It's a unique homestay experience which both of us found very rejuvenating.

The location of Shaokiyatha is surreal. The best part is that there is a trail from the homestay till the Jageshwar dham temple. It’s a perfect downhill trail of 5km. The view at night of the valley from the first floor living area is beautiful. We stayed on the first floor and had access to two rooms and a living area all to us. There are three lovely canine friends that give you company. Food was very good and homely and also reasonable. It was a memorable stay and definitely one we would want to plan again in future.

The enthusiasm and hospitality of Pushkar, owner-manager of the hotel, and the lovely, peaceful, isolated hillside location are the stand-outs of Kot Kailash. The homely homestay accommodation is simple and uncomplicated, but the real comfort comes from the enchanting early morning views of the Himalayas on one side and the rolling foothills on both sides. My room was a little chilly at night in late March, and Pushkar will provide room heaters if needed. Trails for short, enjoyable day treks extent in both directions, a few of which lead down in a few of hours, passing hamlets and farms, to the little village and ancient temples at Jageshwar. You can expect one or more of Pushkar's friendly dogs to follow you at least part of the way! Meals are simple, prepared on the premises, good and ample, and your preferences will be catered for (within reason!). If you want to experience the laid-back but dramatic nature of the Himalayan foothills, this is the place for you.

We had an absolutely delightful stay at Kot Kailash. The house and the rooms are tastefully decorated in a very traditional Kumaoni style -- with modern comforts. The staff go out of their way to make your stay comfortable, and the food (we asked for traditional Kumaoni food every day) is really delicious. A few steps up from the house is an absolutely spectacular panorama of the snow peaks, unlike almost any I've seen elsewhere -- from far into Garhwal into the peaks of Nepal. Pushkar is a wonderful host, going very far out of his way to make our stay pleasant, and, being a native of the area, can talk at length about the environment and the culture of the Kumaon. We had several engaging conversations together. I can't recommend this place more highly, and look forward to our next visit there!

“Bittersweet”

Starting with the positives, I must say that the breakfast and dinner (Paid separately) provided during my stay were delightful, with a homely touch that made them truly enjoyable (Kudos to the cook/ chef). Additionally, the room was clean and maintained good hygiene standards. The property's location, conveniently close to the Jageshwar temple, was another plus point. Furry buddies kept us company in the morning which was a big positive.

Nice location away from crowd . Easy approach as it’s just on the main road . Mr Negi is a wonderful host and enjoyed talking to him about different things . He was very helpful and supportive and even got me a brandy bottle as I missed carrying any liquor . Glass cabin to enjoy morning and evenings views are great ! Staff was very helpful and cordial . Would like to visit again

Fantastic location in Shaukiyathal, just on the road to Vridhh Jageshwar. Pushkar, is a wonderful host. Lalit, Chandu and Pushkar(2) are just beyond helpful. Always smiling and ready to cater to any demand. Food, deserts were great.

“Birthday Trip OP!!!”

Everything is just amazing! The location is the highlight of this stay. Be sure you get up early to see the great white Himalayan range just behind the hotel. The dogs Julie, Mickey and the big boy Bhaalu are just adorable. Simple things like the quality of Air, Water and the radiant sun just heighten the experience. The food is served in the thick brass utensils which give a very village vibe which i loved. Also, they made me a halwa instead of a cake which was a welcome change. the location is superb it’s on the top of the mountain… views from the balconies are amazing… if u want to relax n looking for a peace then kot kailash is perfect destination… it’s away from the hassle and bussle of the city… quite and beautiful.. I would highly recommend this place… specifically Mr Pushkar Negi owner of the property would leave no stone unturned to make your stay comfortable and memorable … food he served us was very good… fresh and authentic… they serve both veg n non veg

Our stay at Kot Kailash was absolutely amazing. The place itself built with a lot of love and is perched at the top of the hill with amazing views of the mountains. The staff is very polite and helpful and very well trained.
