I had read some reviews mentioning that the hotel was dirty, noisy, and had poor internet, so I was a bit worried before arriving. However, our experience was completely different! Very friendly and helpful staff. A clean and comfortable room with surprisingly cozy pillows (even though they looked quite thin). Fast and stable internet connection. Although our window faced the restaurant, it was perfectly quiet after 10 p.m., and we could sleep with the window open. Excellent breakfast with a wide variety of options and really good coffee. Beautiful surroundings, perfect for walking with our dog. We were very pleased with our stay and will definitely keep this hotel in mind for future visits.

This is a decent hotel with very basic rooms (no luxury) but very comfortable beds! Value wise it’s a great overnight stay when exploring this beautiful area of The Netherlands! Great choice of breakfast. Dogs are welcome and plenty of nice walks nearby. Of course Deventer is a must-visit, but be sure to check out the nearby villages and towns. When in Laren (Gld) you must visit the iVintage store for great bargains, you won’t be disappointed!!

Basic room, but comfortable bed, pillow could be better. Breakfast zone is very neat and spacious. Stove area to fry your own bacon and eggs is a nice touch. Big outside area to sit and location is great.

“A pleasant stay in glorious scenery.”
Interesting building with unusual history, wonderful grounds. Set on the edge of fields etc with delightful walks and cycle ways. Staff on reception v helpful and friendly, also person running the restaurant floor was kind and helpful. Rooms generous, if a tiny bit dated, and well maintained. Everyone was kind to the dog! We would go back.
