Dove cottage is a lovely cosy place to stay with everything you could need for a break. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. It's location is iddiylic, a stones throw from the beach and a short walk to Allonby , the whole area is stunning and would love to go back to explore more!

The cottage was absolutely gorgeous, well equipped comfortable cosy and very quite. The surrounding location is a photography dream, coast landscape woodland it has the lot. The Irish Sea is within yards of the cottage there is an abundance of wildlife to photograph along the solway coast never a dull day. The inland network of lanes provide excellent walking and cycling with local inns along the way. Allonby is close by with all the amenities we need. If you are into sunsets look no further, you will be awestruck.

“The amazing Old Kiln Farm”

Comfortable/homely little cottage with everything you need for a break. Right on the England Coastal Path and two minutes from the sea. Very good for dogs. Feels really safe because the owners are so helpful.

The accommodation has everything you could think of (and a lot of stuff you wouldn't!) lovely comfortable accommodation and very nice friendly host. Location is brilliant, right next to the beach and also a good location for exploring the northern lake district. Very dog friendly property as well. Definitely will return 👍

1st class cottage by the sea. Everything provided including fluffy towels on a heated rail. 5 star service from the very friendly owner. The location is excellent and only a short distance from the village. Maryport and Silloth are only 15 minutes away. The property is pet friendly, water and feeding bowl provided, and even a blanket for your pet. So if you want a peaceful holiday by the sea in a lovely cottage, then give Dove Cottage a try, you won't regret it. We will be booking again.

Lovely relaxing stay at Dove Cottage, Allonby, N.Cumbria. Weather gods blessed me good weather for my 5 day stay. Beautiful coastal scenery. Fields & the distant hills views from front of cottage. Lovely welcome by host who met me on arrival at cottage to hand over the key. Located a few metres from an endless beach on the Solway Firth with amazing evening sunsets. Walk down with a coffee to enjoy. Just over a mile by beach or coastal path walk to Allonby village for local pub, a wee shop & Twentymans Ice cream bar. Cherry cheesecake flavour recommended! No street lighting from Allonby to the cottage at night. The coastal path only partially paved at Allonby end & uneven grassy path remainder. Busy, bendy main coastal road not recommended to walk on. Very quiet location with little passing traffic on minor road in front of cottage. No-one was in the 2 bed Seaview cottage next door during my stay. Off road parking for one standard car outside both cottages. Attached farm has space for additional cars a few metres up. Miles of walking on the beach or along the coastal path both directions & great for dogs. Tide goes out really far for walks on the sandy part at low tide. Great for beachcombing. Along coast road 6 miles south is Maryport with its harbour aquarium. Larger town Silloth, with a lovely long promenade walk, 9 miles north. Cottage has everything catered for, was spotless & cosy warm with wall heaters & it has a log burner. Under counter freezer, a fridge & a washing machine for longer stays. Cleaning products, tea towel & cloths, bed linen, cosy thick bathroom towel bundle, toilet rolls provided by host. Coffee machine, air fryer, hair dryer & straighteners. Some condiments in cupboard. Plenty of kitchen utensils, dishes, pots, glasses etc. Bed comfortable & can be twinned/doubled. Mattress bit soft for me but I slept well. Built in wardrobe has rail & shelves. A great wee place to stay for complete R&R.

Vera, the host, could not have been more helpful. Everything we required was provided and the cottage was spotless clean. Would definitely recommend.
