Overview
Xandari Riverscapes are a fleet of house boats which sails along Vembanad Lake and in the backwaters of Alleppey. The houseboats are docked near Pallathuruthy Bridge. The traditional houseboats, called "kettuvallams" have wood harvested from local jackfruit tree plantations, hand-stitched by local craftsmen with coconut fiber rope. The boats have one, two or three air-conditioned bedrooms. All have an open-air living area and a fully-equipped kitchen. Guests can enjoy the views from the viewing deck, or through the bedroom's picture window. Suites have an attached bathroom with toiletries and hot water supply. A desk and wardrobe are provided. Each has both air conditioning and a fan. Laundry services and a doctor-on-call are available for guests’ convenience. Guests can relish a delectable meal of classic Kerala cuisine cooked on board. The houseboat docks in the evenings by the side of the lake. Guests can enjoy a ride on a canoe through the backwaters or play indoor games in the houseboat. Cochin International Airport is 90 km away.

“A must do in Kerala and would definitely recommend this company for it!”
We had an amazing time on this boat! It felt very safe and we had the most relaxing afternoon cruising through the backwaters. Even though it was intermittently raining, we were well sheltered in the boat and enjoyed the added atmosphere. They asked our food preference before the trip, and the chef prepared delicious & fresh food throughout every meal! We could not praise the chef more, every meal was great. The staff were really lovely and made our time relaxing & comfortable. The room was spacious with a good shower and comfortable bed. We would definitely recommend this experience and this company as they were very professional and everything ran very smoothly.

“Fabulous”
What a treat it was. The boat was beautiful, very clean, well equipped with lovely super soft towels and air-con. We had no expectations and it was wonderful we wished we had stayed for 2 night instead of 1. It was worth every penny and more. The staff were incredible and we were very spoilt. Food was amazing. After leaving our previous accommodation, we didn’t think it could possibly get any better — but it absolutely did! My sister and I stayed with Xandari Riverscapes in September 2025. Honey welcomed us on arrival, introduced us to the crew, showed us around the boat, and even mapped out our journey — she had also kept in touch with us beforehand, which made everything feel seamless. It was just the two of us on the boat, with three wonderful crew members — the captain, a chef, and a steward — and we honestly felt like royalty. The boat was far more spacious and tranquil than I’d imagined, drifting gently down the river surrounded by beautiful nature. We spotted kingfishers, kites, fruit bats, and herons — truly magical. Our room was perfect: a massive bed, plenty of space, and a lovely ensuite with a powerful shower. We were served three freshly cooked meals a day (plus an afternoon snack!), all absolutely delicious and plentiful. I’d planned to do just a day trip but chose an overnight stay instead — and it was so worth it. The whole experience was peaceful, beautiful, and deeply moving.
