“Amazing!”

Oh we loved everything about the property.. The room was well maintained and was as we imagined it to be. The garden and the greenery, the river and the view, everything was so perfect for a peaceful getaway. David was an amazing host and the staff were very freindly. Would defenitely visit Sunset Palms again.

“Serenity in the backwaters”

The serenity was nice ..staff and owner did there best to make our stay great. Very nice breakfast and we requested dinner to be made as there is nothing near by .

One of the best stays in Alleppey! David was a very communicative and great host, we had a very nice chat with him. He helped with local recommendations and organise transport for us at a decent price. The place was remote and peaceful, right by the backwaters and was maintained wonderfully. The plunge pool was an amazing plus and the rooms were really spacious and clean. The staff was really helpful throughout the stay and the breakfast was authentic local food & very delicious. Will 100% be returning back soon.

Gorgeous location. So peaceful and calm. David was a great host, providing all I needed and ensuring I was comfortable. Food was delicious. Plunge pool was a great respite from the heat!

We loved everything! A special place surrounded by nature with beautiful rooms and views. David our host went above and beyond ensuring we were comfortable and has everything we needed. We didn’t want to leave.

The place is really surrounded by nature, and calm. The food is great. We enjoyed chating with David who was always telling us interesting stories and facts about India.

“Memorable and Peaceful.”

Beautiful, peaceful location. Lovely pool (although not private) Expect to be cut off from everything and enjoy the serenity and birds. Had dinner once and was very very delicious. We chose this booking for peace and quiet (don't like big hotels) and definately lived up to this but a bit overpriced compared to our other bookings in Kerala. Would recommend travelling to Alleppy for a Shakira boat ride. Lovely quiet boats that take you in and out of the backwaters to areas that the bigger boats can't go.

“Tranquil and serene”

Beautiful remote settings, lovely decor and nice plunge pool. An amazing place to get away from everything. David was a kind and helpful host, and we were cooked delicious meals for breakfast and lunch!

“Relaxing at the Backwaters”

This gem, Sunsets and Palm Trees, is a bit of a hidden gem, perfect for relaxation. Located on the backwaters, you can listen to the birds and watch the waters flow by. The rooms are clean and fully equipped, the food is excellent, and the owner, David, is incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful, giving us fascinating insights into Indian history. It was a shame we had to leave. 10/10

Amazing location, very kind and helpful staff, so well looked after. Incredible wildlife on the doorstep. Tasty food. Really appreciated the help with booking a great boat trip & taxi to the station.

Location is absolutely amazing, a piece of heaven next to the river. David was really helpful in arranging rickshaw driver to visit Alleppey , a boat tour and a massage in town. Rooms are lovely, beds are very large and comfortable. We enjoyed our swimming pool. Food is home made and absolutely delicious.

“Wonderful host”

A beautiful stay surrounded by nature and calm vibes. The host was super nice, warm, and genuinely caring. They made full efforts to make our anniversary celebration special, and it really showed. The property itself is peaceful and scenic—perfect for a relaxing getaway. Would definitely love to come back again.

My room was nice

We loved staying at the property! The little villas are absolutely charming with a lot of attention to detail and very tasteful decorations (from the tiles to the coffee mugs and the lighting in the bathroom - everything works impeccably well together). The small private pool is perfect for cooling down and the river view absolutely relaxing. It's the perfect spot for winding down, reading books and watching life along the river. David is a great host, the staff is friendly and the local vegetarian dishes are very tasteful. Can defined recommend also booking dinner - it will be served on a wonderful terrace looking over the river. Could definelty have stayed a little longer.

“Backwater bliss”

We stayed in Villa 1 and while the room was on the small side, the bathroom was huge with a good hot shower. There was a lovely private patio with a river view, our own garden with sun loungers and a welcome plunge pool. The decor throughout was tasteful and calming. Food was served by the river. Best of all was the welcome we received from David, who kept us entertained with tales of life in India. It was good that there isn’t a huge amount to do in the immediate area. We walked into the local village for pastries and juice (don’t miss the wood carving studio near the church) and went on the magical river trip. But mostly we just chilled out round the villa and recharged our batteries.

An incredible place to stay in the backwaters. All the more so because of the wonderful service provided by Rinu! The dawn boat ride and birdlife was exceptional (it would be great to have a book of Indian birds).

Exemplary customer service from both David and Renu. Renu was hugely attentive from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. David was so kind, getting me a cake for my birthday. We absolutely loved the peaceful location on the water's edge, the birds, and the sunset boat ride on the backwaters. Just the best stay to celebrate.
