Our recent trip to Alappuzha turned into one of the most memorable travel experiences we’ve ever had, thanks to this incredible homestay. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed not as guests, but as part of the family. The hosts are truly wonderful people—warm, genuine, and always ready to help with a smile. Their kindness and hospitality made us feel completely at home throughout our stay. One of the highlights was their houseboat service. It was beautifully arranged and gave us a peaceful and authentic way to explore the backwaters. Everything was well-organized, comfortable, and relaxing—exactly what you hope for in Alappuzha. The food deserves a special mention. Every meal was homely, freshly prepared, and absolutely delicious. You can really feel the love and care that goes into the cooking—it’s not just food, it’s an experience. Simple, authentic Kerala dishes made to perfection. What truly sets this place apart is the level of care and attention they give. Every small detail is handled with sincerity, and their service comes straight from the heart. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay with amazing food, heartfelt service, and a true local experience, this is the place to be. Beautiful location on the river with nice balcony to sit out on., lovely family hosts so kind and helpful and thoughtful. Room and facilities were fine, good value for money. Nice breakfast, easy communication, fast laundry service. Easy to get into town. Lovely boat trip with the family too! nothing fancy but has Everything you need for a great few days there.

We had a very great stay, it was the perfect location to be in the calm of the backwaters but also easily connected to the city. The host family is amazing. They are super friendly and caring. We enjoyed the breakfast while watching the boats on the river pass by. They also cooked us vegan (what we asked for) dinner once and arranged a kayaking trip, paddling into the sunrise with a nice guide. Thanks for the stay, 100% recommended!

Beautiful, second story mini-apartment overlooking one of the main backwater canals. Air conditioning and fans, y lenty of hot water and tradicional kerala breakfast every morning. Highly recommend!

Great location by the backwaters - was so nice to see all of the boats gliding past from the balcony. Very clean room, nice breakfast each morning and friendly hosts. Recommend!

Sacred River Homestay is a delightful place to stay. Very clean , quiet and overlooking the canal, a truly beautiful spot. The family were so friendly and welcoming, they looked after us really well. We went out on a 2 hour small boat ride with the son which was amazing. I can’t compliment our hosts enough .

A truly wonderful stay! The owners are warm, professional, and genuinely wanted me to enjoy my stay. It is like a small apartment without a kitchen. The view from the upper balcony is excellent (though the houseboat blocks some of the view). Hot water, fast internet wifi, around 60mbps up and down. Asif, the owner's son, helped me out and i enjoyed talking with him. The owners allowed me to leave my bag after checkout and even to take a shower before my overnight bus journey. Tip: the easiest and cheapest way to arrive is to go to the government public ferry in town, then ask the ferry to drop you off at Kannitta jetty (30 seconds from sacred river). Amazing view and great location overlooking the pamba river. The host and family opened up their home to us. They have been super nice, welcoming and helpful for us. This was our first visit to Allepey and they guided us through the visit. I would highly recommend this place.

The view of the river from the property is beautiful and peaceful, perfect for relaxing and slowing down. The homestay has a very homely vibe, with clean, cozy rooms and a calm, comforting atmosphere. We’d definitely love to come back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine, heartfelt experience in Alleppey.

The hosts were incredibly hospitable, going above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The breakfasts were tasty, and I loved the thoughtful touches throughout the day - fresh watermelon juice, homegrown mangos, and jackfruit from the garden! The hosts were so helpful with everything I needed, from local tips to practical arrangements. They even woke up at 3 am to prepare tea for me and ensure my driver arrived on time to take me to the station - what dedication! The location is fantastic, right on the riverside. The veranda with a river view was a highlight! I recommend this place for anyone looking for a base for exploring the waters of Kerala.
