“Very unpleasant experience”

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing. Five months before arrival, the property contacted me and asked whether I had any special requests. I clearly replied that my only important requirement was to have either a terrace or direct access to a courtyard/outdoor area. This request was acknowledged, and at no point was I informed that the room assigned to us would be located in a basement area. Upon arrival, we were shocked by the accommodation offered. The Booking.com listing does not clearly indicate that some rooms are located in what feels like a basement. Had this been clearly disclosed, I would never have booked this property. What made the situation even worse was that almost immediately after arrival we were offered an upgrade for a significant additional payment to a room that was simply decent and should have been the standard expected quality. It felt as though guests are intentionally placed in unacceptable rooms and then encouraged to pay extra. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, the staff made us feel unwelcome. We were prevented from accessing the room we were discussing, communication was poor, and no genuine effort was made to accommodate the request that had been communicated months in advance. The entire experience caused significant stress and forced us to spend additional money on alternative accommodation during our holiday. I cannot recommend this property and would strongly advise future guests to clarify exactly which room they are being assigned before booking.

Wonderful boutique Hotel experience, tastefully decorated, high standards or comfort & cleanliness. Clearly signposted so easy to find, mini market 1 min away, large selection of places to eat. San Juan beach is 10 mins on foot, the neighbourhood is great, very relaxing. Hiking trail around the Cape. Was there in March for some early Spring sunshine. Would stay here again if I was in the area. Competitive price & great beach location.

Everything is absolutely perfect! Staff is very friendly and professional. Great location, very quiet and clean. The "Lapalloza" restaurant, whitch is also located here is very cozy and offers a great menu at a very attractive prices. So I put 10/10! The best choice in Alicante!

The hostel is nice and has recently been refurbished. It has a great lounge area at the entrance were you can have a drink and smoke. It has a vending machine outside with some drinks and snacks. You don't need to worry about check-in time because it is autonomous and done through a machine that's placed outside. They even rung you the same day with the instructions for the machine.

We only stayed one night. more like a hotel than a Hostal , very decent sized room, shower was excellent, spotlessly clean in, a quite area, the restaurant was cheap as well. only a 3 min walk to the tram station couldn`t fault it. would stay there again.

“Nice place in a quiet neighborhood with good public transport to the city center”

We looked for a place in a quiet neighborhood and not right in the center. This place is a perfect retreat as it is easily reachable by tram, which connects you to the city center. Even if it is a few kilometers from the city center, there is a good restaurant just besides and a cafe nearby, plus a supermarket and probably more. The only drawback was the small bed, but we knew beforehand, as the description even mentioned the width of the bed. So it was a bit of a struggle for me and my wife to not fall off the edge in the night. One thing that needs a fix is the old air condition. It did work but it was not possible to adjust anything, even after playing around with it repeatedly. This was a bit of a hassle as we could not adjust the room temperature properly. Street noise is also a bit of an issue, but this is Spain apparently, where things are different than in other parts of Europe. But overall the place is definitely worth it, with its moderate prices and modern interior design. We got told that the suites have larger beds too, so we might try it next time if we manage to come back.

The location is perfect if you want to enjoy the best beaches in Alicante with clear water. Easily reachable by bus. If you prefer to avoid the crowded areas with the long sandy beach and instead enjoy nice waters for snorkeling, this is the right spot. But avoid this property. Full story below…
