Beautiful location and we were blessed with perfect weather to enjoy the restaurant outside.

We had a quiet room with a pretty view across the green to the flint stone church. Friendly and obliging staff. We varied eating at the hotel with eating at a local pub but, we should have been better eating only at the hotel; during the week the pubs and Alfriston itself are deserted in the evening whereas the hotel restaurant is excellent and pleasantly busy.

Well appointed hotel in a lovely location with access to excellent country walks. Breakfasts were excellent and staff friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room itself is lovely. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is wonderful. It's very relaxing and everything is very well managed. The location is wonderful, with beautiful walks nearby and the village is charming.

A great stopover on the South Downs Way. Peaceful, tasteful with a lovely garden and great food, in a beautiful old village in the lovely riverside countryside.

“wingrove house, such a special place to stay”

I did like the setting overall: this is a special place, it has a flair so pleasant and conforting. it was my second stay here for a study in the Lodge with the London literary salon. I loved my room on the ground floor, it was quiet and confortable. Breakfast is also generous and cooked eggs are ever so tasty. We did have dinner there as a group, it was good too. last but not least, staff have been always kind and prompt :-)
