Overview
The Cuevas del Tío Tobas offer a unique experience. Cosy, charming and very quiet, they are the perfect escape. They also have an outdoor swimming pool and restaurant. The individually decorated caves, apartments and studios at Tío Tobas have a fireplace, kitchen facilities and a bathroom. Some of them also have wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Free internet access can be found in the restaurant and in the business centre. There is a barbeque area and a small shop selling local crafts and products. Casas Cueva Tio Tobas Guadix offers free donkey rides and staff can provide information on activities available in the surrounding area. The caves are located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada in Andalusia. Granada is just 60 km away. The beaches of Cabo de Gata are just one hour away.

“A wonderful stay in a cave house.”
The property is very unique, being a cave house. If you stay it must be for the quirkiness and the beauty of the area, do not expect a luxury hotel with luxury facilities. We arrived during heavy rain and, the next morning, it was minus 4 with a covering of snow but the house was really cozy and warm with the air conditioning unit in the open plane lounge, dining and kitchen and an electric heater in the bedroom. The bed was huge, extremely comfortable and had lovely, crisp sheets. We enjoyed the cold buffet breakfast. We were able to park immediately outside our house so no long treks with bags. The staff were excellent. It was excellent value for money and we would definitely stay again.

“A different place to stay!”
This lovely quirky rustic cave was a great place to stay. It’s not like anywhere else we have stayed. It was spacious, clean and warm. (We were there in December)The property itself is very nice to walk around. We definitely recommend!

“Cave dwelling at its best.”
The location of cave 16 is superb, wonderful views, lovely grassy area and a big tree for shade. The cave was very basic, comfortable and clean with a good supply of hot water. We had a simple breakfast with lovely coffee. We had dinner in the restaurant which was superb. At all times the management team and other staff were happy and obliging. Our little dog was happy and the on- site dog is lovely.

“Quirky cave house - needs some tlc”
Excellent location for visiting the Gorafe Desert (megalithic geo park) Sierra Nevada and Granada area. Well maintained, pleasant gardens surround the cave houses with outdoor seating and views of the mountains. Nice small pool area with sun loungers and bar.

“Uniquely Cool Experience”
Totally unique experience and cool property. The location was very quiet and with a great layout. Each unit had a comfortable outdoor space, and the units were spacious. The amenities in the units were ample had we chosen to stay longer than 2 days. The restaurant, breakfast space, and pool were well attended and clean. The staff was attentive, friendly, and helpful. The bathroom was private and large with a huge walk-in shower. The small kitchen was an added bonus.

“Nice place to stay with interesting interior”
Nice place to stay with interesting interior. Pool was available all the time. There is a place to leave the car. Light breakfast available. Since it is a cave, the room is cool and you have to expect a specific air.

“Quiet countryside retreat turned into noisy nightmare.”
The grotto rooms and shower were pretty. Interesting to sleep inside a troglodyte house.

Nice location, close to Guadix and other view/visit points in the region. Beautiful surroundings, quiet place, cave houses with small front gardens and nicely and tidy organized complex. Ideal for a couple of days to discover the region.

“Cozy cave with a view to Sierra Nevada”
A cozy cave with a kitchen, heating and a fireplace, for which you could buy wood at the reception. Beautiful views to Sierra Nevada, and a good base for exploring the Guadix and Gorafe areas.

“Slightly dissapointed”
Very cute cueva, close to Guadix and easily accessible from the highway. Parking right in front of the room. Alright breakfast. Very large room with a fully stocked kitchen. The furniture and the style of the room was very authentic.
