Overview
Can Carreras is an 18th-century house located within the natural setting of Alt Empordà and Alt Garrotxa. The house is set in a protected natural area and features spectacular mountain views. Featuring stone walls, exposed beams and rustic furniture, Can Carreras has a TV lounge with fireplace, as well as a dining room where guests can have breakfast or dinner upon request. Board games can be provided. There is also a large shared kitchen with barbecue and TV. On the outside there is a garden with a small children’s playground. Guests can practice fishing, hiking and 4x4 driving in the surroundings, and bikes are available for hire. All rooms have heating, a wardrobe and views of the mountains and the garden. Some rooms have a private bathroom. Can Carreras is located in Sant Llorenç de la Muga, 5 minutes’ drive from the town centre. The centre of Figueres is 22 km away. There is free Wi-Fi and free private parking.

“Great hosts, good breakfast, great location.”
Location is gorgeous, great for hiking and watching the stars. Hosts are super nice and friendly, they waited for us, when we took the wrong turn and came later than planned.

La Muga River was very beautiful. About a 3km walk from Can Carreras. Many, in my experience, out of this world swimming spots: private ones that are difficult to get to because of the steep decline but ones that are easier to get too also. I went for a swim in three different locations. Clear, beautiful waters. Also the small village of Albanya was a beautiful sight. Very peaceful. There are no shops in Albanya, remember to buy some snacks before you come.

“Characterful farmhouse stay”
Clean, comfortable, and charming farmhouse stay. I had it to myself, which was a treat. Big self-catering out building as well. Small pool area.

Loved everything - the lovely lady who manages the hotel, the huge breakfasts, the beautiful countryside, the beautiful rooms, the gorgeous countryside, the helpful staff and use of facilities like the kitchen. Fantastic!

if you don't mind a bed that's small and creaky… if you're not allergic and don't mind a flannel blanket.. if you don't mind a bathroom whose shower has no place to hang because it's broken…. if you don't mind mosquitoes at night…. if you don't mind a breakfast with just a cup of milk, two slices of bread and a piece of cheese… if you don't mind when you open the window you hear the noise of a stream that smells of sewage .. And finally...if you don't mind the host, just talk to you and say that you have to pay in cash because he doesn't have an agreement with the Booking nor ask how your stay was... Then you can stay at the Can Carreras hotel
