The host is so kind and it makes a difference that she really loves her job and live sworking with people. It's also very clean there.

“Lovely guest house, felt like home”

Staying there felt like being home with family. Instantly felt welcome, the host was the kindest, sweetest host ever. The whole stay was wholesome and perfect. The guest house was very cozy, clean and nice. The location was perfect, close to Sanahin monastery, and to the hiking trail towards Haghpat monastery. We ordered breakfast, which was also really great. I can only recommend this guest house, i hope we will get to stay here in the future as well!

The homely atmosphere is a great asset. Alla (who speaks fluent english) and her mum (who is very good in sign language and is an excellent cook) make you really feel at home and part of the family ( which is completed by a lovely dog who invites you abundantly to play with him- do so, he deserves it!). Alla took great pains to rebuild this house for a comfortable stay. Great views from the dining room and the garden over the mountains. 3 minutes walk to Sanahin monastery in the hamlet of Sanahin, which is very rural. Accesible by bus #3 or taxi ( 1000 dram) from Alaverdi ( 15 minutes ride)

“Best place to stay in all Alaverdi area”

This place is a 10/10 cozy and familiar homestay. Sanahin is a great location since it is on top of the hill above Alaverdi. It’s very easy to get to Alaverdi by bus or taxi and I think it’s definitely more peaceful and beautiful to stay up on the hill. It is also possible to walk from here to Haghpat monastery (9km approximately) and it is completely worth it. Marina and Ala are the friendliest hosts and they made sure our stay was absolutely perfect. The place is super clean, room is spacious and very comfortable, and the dinner we had there was amazing! Thank you Marina and Ala for your generosity and hospitality, we hope to come back :)

Great Hosts, very welcoming and helping. The accommodation is cozy and very clean. The food was also nice. It is located in a convenient location, close to sightseeing spots and hikes. Would definitely recommend staying there!

Very hospitable felt right at home.

Good email communication after booking (correct location, meal and activity costs), attentive host (mother) who offered tea on arrival and despite not understanding English took the time to communicate via google translate, very clean room and bathroom, quiet at night and good WiFi signal. Alla (daughter) understands English and was super helpful and accommodating when I wanted to change my plans and provided all the information required for onward transportation via WhatsApp. Great service.

“Cosy homestay in village centre”

We stayed here for a night while hiking the TCT in Armenia. Cosy homestay, a host with a heart of cold, steps away from the village centre. We loved our stay

“Our favourite place in Armenia :)”

We loved everything about our stay, especially the host Alla. She is a lovely person and an excellent cook,( we ate some of the best food we had in Armenia here) she also runs some very interesting workshops on pottery, carpet weaving and soap making. We had a great time chatting with her and learning about Armenian culture. Photos are true to the property, everything is clean and comfortable, the property also has a lovely garden with a beautiful view of the mountains. Location is a five minute walk to Sanahin monastery in one direction and to the Mikoyan brothers museum in the other, it’s also only a short drive to Haghpat monastery and Akhtala fortress.

Cozy house, cleaned and warm. The host was magnificent, thoughtful and helpful. The workshop were really interesting, we enjoyed them a lot! Food (dinner and breakfast) was super and plentiful. Everything was real and with meticolous attention to detail. A real insight into the armenian culture (the host speaks english very well and was glad to answer our questions). 10/10 Thank you!!!! <3

The host welcomed us at the night, explained everything well. It’s very cold season but luckily they have an electric blanket which totally saved our ass! I also like the decoration of the house - traditional Armenian carpets, antiques and old tradition stuff / handcraft. The granny is very proud of her homemade breakfast or food (we only ordered breakfast), which is rich and delicious, and almost every ingredient is grown and planted by her.

Everything was perfect, Marina welcomed me from the first moment as if I were one of her family... I can confirm that the score on booking is more than deserved. I also asked for dinner and breakfast not included in the price of the room but trust me it's worth it. The price of the meals was overall cheap. Very nice ladies Quiet stay for 2 nights getaway.

Marina was a great host. Always bright and enthusiastic. She cooked deliciously and gave us a cooking workshop Armenian Cuisine!

I highly recommend Pottery House. We had a wonderful stay. Marina and Alla are very friendly and helpful. Alla gave my daughter a great pottery class. The building looks a little rough from the outside but inside it is clean and tastefully decorated. Marina made us a lovely dinner. The view of the mountains was fantastic and it is right near the Monastery. We got a car to Haghpats and walked back on the well marked trail. It was well worth it.

Wonderful place, the best in Armenia. Women who run this home stay are super welcoming and super friendly. You immediately feel at home. If you want, they will tell you some interesting stories about the city, the monastery or daily life in Armenia and if you are interested in some handcrafting there’s pottery masterclass and art therapy. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. The food (you can order breakfast/ lunch/ dinner) is really delicious. Last but not least, you are 2 minutes walk from the Sanahin Monastery (free entrance) and you can enjoy it anytime you want.
