“Would book it again in a heartbeat!”
This was our second time staying at Villa San Ignacio. And I would book it again in a heartbeat! The accommodation is decorated with so much taste. The staff is friendly. And the tipico at breakfast was truly the best we ate in all of 3 weeks in Costa Rica.

The first impression was what a beautiful setting the Villa has surrounded by wonderful trees and casual gardens. Our room was a delight and always cleaned and tidied immaculately. Then the staff who were always smiling, always helpful, always cheerful. It was a delight to know them. The restaurant settings (inside and outside) and menus (and food) were equally wonderful. If you are a birdwatcher (I am) the gardens provide plenty of activity and I highly recommend it to birders. After our week away exploring the pacific coast we decided to come back to the Villa to be greeted like old friends. We scored the Villa and the staff among the very best we experienced travelling for 2 months in South and Central America and thoroughly recommend to everyone!!! Thank You.

The location is not too far from the airport so an ideal overnight stop after a long flight. The grounds were nice to walk around in the evening and morning spotting wildlife.

Amazing grounds. Not far from the airport. Near the countryside with trails. Nice restaurant. We had the suite with large balcony, amazing for birdwatching.

“Great quirky hotel for nature-lovers, conveniently close to the airport based in Alajuela”
Comfortable stay in a room set in the grounds of a lovely old villa, with beautiful gardens, lots of wildlife, a nice little swimming pool, and a great breakfast included with the room rate. We chose this hotel for its proximity to the airport, for our last night's stay in Costa Rica, after touring for 3 weeks around the country. It was a good choice, as we had a very restful final night and morning, before returning our rental car and our long-haul flight home.

“Look no further”
Such a great start to our holiday in Costa Rica. The grounds were beautiful and sitting by the pool was idyllic. It is convenient for the airport but feels miles away. All the staff were very friendly, including the security at the gate and the waiter in the restaurant. We had a delicious meal in the evening and a lovely breakfast. Recommend highly.
