What did I like? Well; where do I start.... the location is perfect, in the middle of the palms plantation. the guesthouse has been restored meticulously are represent 100% the traditional Omani family home. Breakfast was TOP and the amazing dinner was shared with host whom answered the multiple questions we had. The second night we had a lovely chat on the terrace and for me this was the highlight of my time in Oman. I left Al Hamra with a bit of sadness, but made my mind up that I will be back to visit Emina and her fantastic friends in the next few years. 10 on all accounts

We had high expectations and were not disappointed. Wonderful feeling of hospitality and a bonus to be greeted by 3 lively dogs. The host was very friendly and accommodating and answered all our questions for the trip to Jabal al Akhdar the next day. Al Hamra village is not to be missed. A very nice museum nearby is not to be missed, exceptional staff showed us around an old house and life in former times. All in all a wonderful time in Al Hamra and Bait Al Aali

“Great stay”

Authentic place hotel and surroundings, staying there you can feel the history, more of that it's a good location to travel to Jabal Shams and nearby surroundings. The host was friendly and helpful, breakfast and dinner was good and delicious. The host owner is a woman from Germany and You can really feel how everything is kept in good hands. And we loved the dogs ! best wishes for Bella, Pancito, Mindi 😀

“A very unique and quiet place”

The guest house in the middle of the village and the feeling to be at home was great. Emina made everything to make our stay unforgetable and unique. The house is really beautiful and the quietness is precious. I really liked our room, the food was delicious.

Incredible building in a gohst village. Everything in the house and round it is worth a photograph. Furnished in harmony with the local style and with love for details. Amazing terrace. Interesting owner who provided us with a lot of information.

This is not just some accommodation, this is home. Emina made us feel very welcomed at her house and along with the unique architecture, the surroundings and also other lovely guests, this was an experience we will never forget. Wish we had more time to spend here. We spent one night on our way from Muscat to Jebel Shams. The rooms are simple but clean, the bathroom was well equipped. Incredible views waited for us on the rooftop along with pet dogs making us company. I have to admit the breakfast was rather smaller/simpler but everybody has different taste, so it’s hard to please all. Hoping to come sometime again!

We stayed one night at the Bait Al Aali Guesthouse, it’s a wonderful and stylish building and interior. The dinner and breakfast were very tasty, free parking is nearby and the owner is very hospitable and friendly (and amazing pictures on the wall from her own collection). Special place to spend some time in this old sheik’s home in between ruins of the old village, palm trees and enjoy the lovely roodtop terrace with 3 lovely house dogs (Mindy, Bella and Panchito) roaming around.

Amazing old house with a great rooftop terrace for sunset views or just relaxing. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. I really appreciated the owners sustainable approach - no plastic, locally sourced products. The owner provided us with helpful tips and recommendations for the rest of our holiday. Overall, very good value. Highly recommend!

All super nice. Very beautiful building in the old town. Very friendly host who makes sure you feel home. There are two amazing dogs, the food is home cooked and incredible. You eat with the other guests and will get to know them

“A Culturally Respectful Guesthouse With A Super Host.”

We had a great 2 night stay. The rooms have been renovated with respect to the culture of Oman, whilst adding a modern twist. Emina is a wonderful host: the welcome mat is correct "Arrive as a guest and leave as friend"! Breakfast is local and fresh. Homemade bread, eggs, fruits, juices and cheeses are on offer (all locally sourced). The dinner is also excellent; there is no menu, but the set meal was superb both nights.

“Lovely stay in old Al Hamra house”

Beautiful stay in one of the few renovated old mud houses in Al Hamra. The pictures on booking do not do it justice, the house has been lovingly restored and a real experience to stay in. The room was comfortable but still felt true to its heritage. Lovely roof terrace overlooking the old town and date plantations. The food was excellent.

Everything was perfect! Beautiful and very tastefully decorated guesthouse in a traditional old house. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts and dinners and tea on the roof terrace with amazing views. Very nice, friendly and hospitable owner. Very relaxing stay :-)

We loved staying at the Bait al Aali guesthouse. The guesthouse was very comfortable and lovingly decorated. Emina was super kind and helpful with tips for our further travel. The freshly prepared dinner and breakfast were delicious. We can absolutely recommend the stay at the guesthouse.

We loved Bait Al Aali! Emina really went out of her way to make our stay perfect. We didn’t come with our own car and we’re particularly grateful for the effort she made to make it easy for us to get around. She could not have been a better or kinder host. The home-cooked meals were absolutely delicious and there was always more than we could eat. The guesthouse itself is beautiful and nicely restored, and located in the old town of Al Hamra, with fabulous views from the roof terrace and incredible sunsets. The area around is gorgeous and unspoilt, especially Misfah and Jebel Shams. Our stay in Al Hamra with Emina was the highlight of our trip!
