We stayed in Hafdals Hotel for 4 nights, and this was unquestionably the best place we stayed in Iceland. The location is absolutely outstanding, with the most beautiful views over the fjord to Akureyri and the mountains beyond. It is only a short drive to Akureyri itself, where you have a great choice restaurants and other facilities. Breakfast at the hotel in excellent. Our host Thorarinn was very friendly and helpful with advice about the best things to to do in the area, and took great trouble to ensure that everything worked well. Very strongly recommended!

“Super comfortable stopover”

Exceptionally situated with the best views over the estuary. Generously sized room with lovely seated area beside huge windows, through which you can relax and enjoy the views. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was generous. A delightful proprietor who provided us with useful hints and tips aboyt places to visit.

Amazing Room with a great view overlooking Akureyri. The staff were very nice too - I arrived slightly early and they let me check in ahead of the standard time.

Excellent location, overlooking the fjord and the Forest Lagoon. Rooms are modern and clean, size is good as well. Staff is friendly and helpfull.

Nice sized room with lovely views out across the lagoon. Host was friendly and parking for the car was really close to the rooms.

A small hotel nestled on the hillside outside Akureyri affording good views of the Eyjafjorder, town, valley and hills opposite. Rooms are well appointed, very clean and comfortable. The host is quiet and efficient and serves that standard breakfast one encounters across the country. All in all a good option if you have a car.

This was the best hotel of our 12-days trip in Iceland. The rooms are very spacious and have an astonishing view on the fjord where the city of Akureyri rests. The owner is a very kind man who bakes fresh croissants every morning. Just an amazing experience
