We absolutely loved this place. We stepped off a plane in Akureyri to a freezing cold wind and when we arrived at Alma's apartment it was so warm, cosy and relaxing. The layout is really good, on the first level is a spacious hallway with lots of room for coats and shoes etc., lounge/dining room, separate kitchen with table and chairs and a small bedroom with bunk beds. There is a wooden staircase leading from the hallway to the upper level which has a lower ceiling and at the top of the stairs is a lovely large landing with two bedrooms and a good size bathroom with toiletries provided. We really loved the space and feel of the apartment and the views from the lounge were beautiful with all the autumn colours. The location was excellent, we were on foot so being close to the town was perfect. We had a nice walk to the botanical gardens which has a superb café and we had a great evening at the local swimming pool. If you turn left and go a short distance up the hill there is a shopping centre and grocery store. We had everything we needed, it was comfortable, quiet and in a nice area. Check-in information was clear and detailed, so pleased to have stayed here and we would come again if we have the chance.

“I think this place has great potential. It is close to the town centre. Could be lovely”
The place is under renovation. Our first impression was bad. There was scaffolding up on the building and weeds all around the edge of the yard. The actual apartment was nice. The sloped ceilings made it a bit difficult in the one bedroom for two adults. The bathroom was fine. Too bad about all the flies in the house.

Very nice apartment. It had everything we needed, a lot of space for our family of four and walking distance to the city.
