I had an amazing experience renting this apartment in Akumal. The location is perfect, close to beautiful beaches and local restaurants. The apartment was clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The owner was very welcoming and available to answer all my questions. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have an unforgettable vacation in Mexico!

It was a amazing place for sure we will come back. Very good information about the place. The best beach that we where much better than in Playa de Carmel and Cancun. The water is very clean.The apartament is very big

The apartment was absolutely beautiful I've never known such a well-kitted out and well furnished holiday rental. It really felt like I was in someone's home. Each piece of furniture and art has been chosen with taste and exquisite care. We really appreciated this, as well as the amazing feeling of being between the jungle and the sea. The beach club, the rooftop pool and the other pool provided beautiful relaxing spaces beyond the apartment and the snorkeling off the beach was pretty good. I even saw a nurse shark and some big tarpon as well as many beautiful smaller fish and a huge barracuda. It's worrying that there's no recycling or suggestion of refilling water containers. As a family of 5 we get through a lot. A garafon isn't worth buying for a short stay, but could easily be provided with the apt, alongside a note on restocking these. (You return them to the shop and they give you a full one; it's purified water rather than factory bottled mineral water so should have less environmental impact). Also from my research the wastewater systems in the Akumal area are not sufficient for the number of people here. The result is that the reefs have been slowly dying for a long time. This is a problem for the whole Yucatan peninsula and the sad irony is that we come for the beautiful underwater world but are killing it with algae growth through the increased nitrogen levels in the runoff from the land. The wastewater is treated but the effluent does still end up affecting the cenotes and the sea. The coral is a remnant scrap of what it once was due to this and other wider factors such as global warming.

This apartment was fantastic. Very spacious which helped on our rainy days during our stay. Fantastic air conditioning, two great pools and a friendly security guard to the building.

Wonderful 2 weeks what you see on pictures,you get, great apartment,kitchen very well equiped,everything was clean,good water pressure,aircon,fridge.very good beds,plenty of storage space.good towels and also beach towels.check in easy, for this location better to have a car.Very quiet-this i loved.Would return-100% yes

Santamar Penthouse is the perfect base for a holiday in this region. The apartment is spacious, clean, extremely comfortable, and has everything you need. The facilities are incredible, with a gym, several pools, and a beautiful beach just 5 minutes walk away. The host was lovely and communicated everything very clearly. Highly recommend!
