“Nice place with renovated shared bathroom”

After a freezing, rainy day on our trip, a warm room and a hot shower were exactly what we needed. This B&B delivered perfectly, giving us a warm welcome and a great experience. Our room was cozy, warm, clean, and comfortable with a renovated shared bathroom. It had a good privacy and facilities. The host was friendly and flexible, providing tips for the area. We enjoyed having a simple breakfast with genuinely lovely conversation with the host.

“Quiet place”

for me this accommodation was ideal. we travelled around Bornholm on bikes, we stopped with bikes and a dog. the owner was super easy-going, in the morning at breakfast he told us how life is on the island, where he recommends going, what attractions there are. Very quiet and peaceful place. this is not a typical hotel, but an agritourism in a house where the owner lives, so if you are looking for luxury, this is not the place, if you are looking for peace and quiet, you will be satisfied.

I booked two rooms with short notice. When I arrived it was a single room for 4 persons. Perhaps I was in too much of a hurry when making the booking. As a single room was not acceptable to me, I canceled the stay on site. I expected some kind of refund, but the owner meant that I would have needed to cancel the booking 5 days earlier (before the booking was made). I therefore paid in full for something that was not used and only booked for 30 minutes (possibly preventing someone to book during that time). In my opinion, such inflexibility is not good service.

It is a very small pension in a private house close to the town centre of Aakirkeby with all pro and contra of staying in an old house with some retro style. I was satisfied with this experience, though it is important to understand nuances: there is no soundproof, but with 3 rooms only it is not a big issue. Room was quite spacious. There are coffee/tea making facilities, which seem to be standard in all accommodations in Denmark. Communication with the owner was easy, checkin and checkout were fast and easy, no stress. The owner indeed stays with you at the breakfast in the kitchen room. I enjoyed the conversation and took a chance to know more about the island from the islander but for introverts it might be not too good.
