The lady of the house is very welcoming and nice. She was very helpful, waited for us in the evening, and prepared us a huge home-maid very tasty breakfast. The hotel is simple, but the beds are good and there's climate control for the case of heat. It's very close to the castle, so one can have a morning walk there (not all parts are paid).

The location is perfect! Just infront of the castle and next to a really good resturant. The owner is so welcoming and nice!! She even go beyond to help us with a flat tire we discovered in the morning.. this place is the best place to stay in this town. Thank you

The wifi did not work, the room was cold and the toilet door did not close. The staff was inpolite.

In a very good location, right in front of Rabati castle, and the room was very clean. The host was very lovely, I had driving exam in this day and she asked lately how I did on the exam ❤️

Host family is wonderful, helpful and kind. Central location, Castle is just 50m behind the hotel. Room is clean and tidy. Many nice cafe/restaurant within 100m. I love this town and hotel a lot.

The lady in charge was extremmly friendly. I must mention specially her recomendation to hire the TAXI services of Max, a driver with very good English that, is not only an excellent driver and guide, is the fact that he gives you the extra mile showing you hidden pearls nearby that does not appear in any guide. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND this Hotel and hire MAX taxi services, without doubt was the best taxi driver / guide in our stay in Georgia.

The owner is extremely nice. She did everything possible to make us feel good and comfortable. She also has a bakery by the hotel, with really good and tasty products. Location is great, near everything. Rooms are clean and great value for money. I would definitely recommend!

“A great hotel run by lovely people”

All the fundamentals were in place for a nice stay. Comfortable bed. Decent WiFi. Strong shower pressure. Aircon worked. Location was right on the door step of the castle and 5 min walk from the bus station. Additionally the owners are a lovely couple. I enjoyed a very pleasant breakfast with them. There is a little bakery located in ground floor of the hotel that they also own so I got to enjoy a variety of pastries on the little outdoor seating area whilst having a nice chat with them. This was my first stop in Georgia after a long journey in from Turkey and it really started my trip off on the right foot.

Hotel New Star is operated by a very welcoming and friendly husband and wife. Her English is excellent and check-in went perfectly. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Our entire stay was quiet and peaceful. Hotel New Star is located just steps from the castle and a handful of restaurants in the old town. The hosts even run an on-site bakery as part of their establishment. The hotel is also within a very short walk of the town's marshrutka station, ATMs, local shops and a few small grocery stores. The Room: Sheets and towels were fresh and clean. There was a table and two chairs in the room, plus a small coatrack with a shelf. Radiator heating and an air conditioner to keep the room comfortable. In-room electric kettle and refrigerator. Comfortable bed with bedside tables. Plenty of electric sockets well-located throughout the room. Wi-fi signal was excellent, service was reliable and download & upload speeds were very fast. Clean bathroom with hand soap and body wash. Plenty of hot water at the shower and there was even a bathmat for stepping out of the shower. Our room also featured a large private balcony with a view of the castle, which is right next to Hotel New Star. Our private balcony even featured a table and three chairs - this is a simple but thoughtful addition by the hosts which allows guests to really relax on the balcony and enjoy this lovely space. The balcony featured a main door with window - this door can be locked from inside the room. The balcony also had a screen door for letting in a nice breeze. We could smell Hotel New Star's bakery below the balcony and it smelled delicious! We were tired after a few very busy days of travel and our room at Hotel New Star was the perfect spot to relax for a few days. It was also an excellent value. Hotel New Star comes with our solid recommendation.

Super lovely Hotel right next to the castle. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and also helped us organize a trip to Vardzia with their driver Max. If you’re staying at this hotel, definitely do the tour to Vardzia with Max, it was a highlight on our trip to Georgia. He knows all the best spots along the way to take photos, so you should do the tour with him even if you have your own rental car, it’s more than worth it

“Perfect place to stay for a day or two.”

The place is clean, good lightening, super friendly guests almost like a family. Location is the best as it right infront of the fort. We had a great conversation over the dinner.
