Amazing place to spend some time and close to Akaroa. Hosts are really friendly and happy to share some information about hiking spots around the area. One of the best places I staid in during my visit in New Zealand. Hopefully I will be able to visit again some day

We loved halfmoon cottage, the setting and its beautiful garden .....wished we were staying for more than one night. It's the perfect place for a lovely long relaxing weekend. The owners were just lovely and so super helpful. We would love to come back and stay longer : )

We had a wonderful stay at the Halfmoon Cottage. The hosts are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The kitchen is fully equipped and the facilities clean. Nearby are beautiful spots for tourists to visit.

“Must-stay spot when visiting Banks Peninsula”

Gorgeous small cottage which was easy to get to and was close enough to Akaroa and other attractions, whilst still having that secluded feeling. Cornelius and Margot who own and operate the cottage were very friendly.

Very welcoming and friendly couple. Beautiful gardens, great kitchen, good sized bedrooms. Love the fresh spring water, and the indoor and outdoor eating areas are lovely. Highly recommended!

Margo and Cornelius are fabulous hosts, they made me feel very welcome. It was like home away from home, relaxed, comfortable, clean and well maintained. It's a beautiful house and the gardens are superb. Margo gave me a capsicum from the garden to have in my stir fry, yum! Thanks for everything... and charging my PHEV :-)

I really can't fault Halfmoon Cottage. From arrival to departure, everything was just brilliant! The cottage and the garden are beautiful and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped with all the utensils you needed, as well as plenty of space in the cupboard/fridge for you to store things. It was spotlessly clean too, which is the same for the shared bathroom facilities. We had a twin room which was cosy and comfortable, with some space for the two of you to spread out your luggage. The location was great, just about a 10 minute drove out of Akaroa itself and just on the main road so it's pretty easy to find. The owners were very attentive and helpful with any information we needed about the area/things to do. You could tell that they really have an interest in their guests staying there and want them to have a good time. If/when I come back to Akaroa, I will definitely be staying here again!

An amazing cottage located right in front of the water. The cottage itself is super beautiful, surrounded by green trees, colorful flowers and everything is so clean and inviting. Beds are comfy and the shared kitchen has everything you need. The cherry on top of it were definitely the hosts, Cor and Margo, who welcomed us so warmly and were so fun to talk with. This is your place to stay when visiting Banks Peninsula!!!

Lovely space with incredible garden, and peaceful setting near water. Well equipped and modern kitchen. Dangerously close to a cheese factory and shop… :)
