“We had an excellent stay here and highly recommend.”
Lesley and John were fabulous hosts. Blythcliffe has an amazing garden, it was close to the centre of town, the room was exactly as advertised with a very comfortable bed and a bath and shower. The breakfast was lovely with freshly made fruit salad, yogurt, cereal, toast and eggs. They catered well for my gf coeliac diet even buying a new toaster for me! Lesley also helped out with access to the washing machine. There was a sitting room for guest use with a bar fridge and tea and coffee and sensational view over the garden to the harbour. The house is closing in May for a year for some major repairs and renovations. It will be amazing when it reopens.

“Loved the setting and the character”
This a is a quaint historical house set in beautiful gardens. John and Lesley share their characterful home with visitors. We stayed in the Rose room and shared the guest lounge with other visitors. Great breakfast with choice of hot and cold food. They were very helpful during our stay which ended with us being marooned due to a flood and road washout. We had to stay an extra night but were made very welcome.

What a spot for my first night in NZ! Such a beautiful old house with a blooming garden, phantastic home made breakfast - and Leslie and John are hosts with passion for what they do! I am a well traveled person but this accomodation was more than charming - it was one of my absolute highlights ever and I regret not to have stayed for longer than one night!

“A rare opportunity to stay in a historical house.”
We loved this beautiful historical house. Location is brilliant. Our room was a lovely size with a nice outlook and the owners had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. We were travelling with friends and had our own little sitting room to enjoy a drink and view in. Breakfast was gorgeous. John was very hospitable and we loved his homemade croissants. Thank you for making us so welcome.
