“The ultimate ryokan experience”

The room was spacious (by traditional standard) and public areas are well maintained and full of character. You also get to choose a time slot for using the two private baths. Staff were very courteous and hospitable, as expected. The nearby area (Nanokamachi) is also historic and exquisite with lots of shops and local craftsmanship. Quite a local experience for dinner and breakfast also.

The cuisine inn live up to its standard, their meals are very well put together though flavour was okay. First time trying ryokan that share bathroom and toilet, it is on the same floor as the room on second floor so it wasn’t too bad, the steps are steep so may not be too convenient for folks that is not so mobile.

Friendly and welcoming staff, a homely feel. Incredible array of food - more than I could eat! Comfortable room, and a relaxing bath prepared each night. Short walk from Nanukamachi Station - ok distance to wheel the suitcase.

Fourth trip in this ryokan, the tenant was still very nice and even recognized me after 2 years. Everything is excellent from the welcoming, the food, the private bath time, the room. Price went a bit up since I came here last time, but still very worth it.

Togo to is well located and we were greeted by our delightful hosts. Our room was warm and comfortable and the daily Japanese bath was a highlight. The outstanding feature of this property is the food. Both dinner and breakfast were superb with local specialties prepared with great care. A feat for the eyes and palate.

It's such an all-round fantastic experience. The food is absolutely amazing. The space is humble but pristine, exactly what I was after. I thoroughly recommend it.

I throughly enjoyed my stay at Tagoto. The staff were inviting and very helpful, going the extra mile to make my stay comfortable. The staff noticed I was having trouble fitting into the standard size slippers and couldn't walk up the stairs in them. Shortly after checking in, I went out for dinner and then returned and they had prepared me a larger pair of slippers. This was a lovely surprise and the fit was much more comfortable. The staff offered recommendations for places around Aizuwakamatsu and were patient with me attempting to speak / learn more Japanese. The breakfast was amazing! I got to try so many new interesting traditional dishes. The staff serving was very helpful and friendly.
