“Superb guest house”

We really enjoyed our stay at Dar Bilal in Ait Ben Haddou. The guest house is full of charm and made for a very comfortable stay. Our hist Mohamed was very welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. The location is great for visiting and exploring Ait Ben Haddou and the surrounding area, yet located in a quiet and calm environment. A lovely place to stay — we would definitely recommend it.

The property had a lovely style to it, finished beautifully. It was such a nice place to relax. The staff were lovely and kind and we were greeted with tea and small other nibbles that you’d find in Morocco such as peanuts. Breakfast well deserves title of superb as it was really filling with all kinds of Moroccan staples. The coffee was very nice. The terrace had stunning views and the general feel of the property was lovely and peaceful .

We loved the place. It was big, spacious, had great views and the family was so kind. The location was perfect for us: close to Aït Benhaddou but not touristy at all. We enjoyed our stay very much! The only thing that bothered us, was that the room was quite dark, because the window was small. But as long as you don't spend all day in the room, it doesn't matter at all!

A stunning house in a beautiful spot near Ait Benhaddou and next to another beautiful kasbah. People were kind and welcoming, breakfast was delicious as was the welcoming tea. Rooms are beautiful. We loved staying here!

This house is absolutely stunning, with meticulous craftsmanship evident throughout and beautifully adorned with Moroccan artifacts from across the country. The host family was incredibly welcoming, greeting us with tea and refreshments upon arrival. While breakfast was somewhat disappointing and would benefit from more traditional offerings, the rooftop terrace more than compensated with spectacular stargazing opportunities. We were welcomed at Dar Bilal in a very warm and typically Moroccan manner with tea and pastries. The owner's older son was very helpful with our luggage. We also had the opportunity to choose between two rooms. The building is beautiful, very stylish and comfortably furnished, and offers many seating areas that invite you to linger. One evening, we sat in a seating area on the slightly cooler upper floor and Mohammed very kindly brought us a blanket. The room was sufficiently large and the bed was comfortable. Overall, however, the room was very simply furnished, but there were enough power outlets. The breakfast had a good selection and there was something for every taste. The sweet cakes and croissants were particularly good. Dar Bilal offers good and secure parking. The access road is unpaved and not easy to find the first time (we arrived at night) – but no problem after that.

The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The location is absolutely breathtaking and waking up looking at the sunrise and the starry sky from that rooftop is already a special experience by itself. It’s a very calm and quiet area (besides from a few animals in the background and the praying from the mosque in the morning). I would absolutely go back to stay there for much longer and suggest it to everyone who wants to spend a few days outside of Marrakech traveling by car through one of the most stunning roads and landscapes you can wish for! Ps Definitely check out the ruins right next to it in the village!

We have experienced there traditional Marrocan hospitability. Everything was perfect as we expected. The hosts were very nice and the food delicious.

An absolute gem of a Dar, very close to Ait Ben Haddou but away from the tourist madness there. Beautiful interior, nice breakfast and a very kind host. Absolute recommendation.

First and foremost: the awesome hospitality and good "energy" - the spoken communication wasn't perfect, but that didn't influence at all the quality of our stay - of the owner (unfortunately we don't remember his name); we weren't doing well and he was extremely careful to prepare us something "special" to eat! Then, the tranquility of the place and the surroundings and, last but not least, the beautiful morning view from the terrace.

Super quiet place! They also had ac I didn't see mentioned on their page. Place was clean and we got a a lot of welcoming snacks. Place was nicer in person than on photos

We stayed there only a night, arriving late and leaving early, but we were really impressed by the design of the building. It was renovated using traditional techniques but adding a contemporary twist. The rooms and common spaces were very spacious, and the building had an amazing rooftop terrace with picturesque views towards the other villages and mountains. The room was comfortable and we could rest very well there. The hosts were sweet and gentle. The breakfast was really generous; I think we could eat only a quarter of it. I highly recommend it, especially if you are looking for a comfortable and peaceful stay away from the tourist madness.
