Overview
This guesthouse is set in a mountain hamlet, at an altitude of 1150 metres. It overlooks the Tarentaise Valley and is just a 5-minute drive from La Plagne Montalbert ski resort. The Ancienne Ecole de Montvilliers provides a shuttle service to the ski resort with additional charge. The guest rooms at the Ancienne Ecole all have views of the surrounding countryside and feature wooden floors. Each comes with free Wi-Fi access and a private bathroom with shower. A continental breakfast is served every morning, and guests can enjoy regional cuisine for dinner in the cosy dining room with fireplace. There is also a lounge area with TV, microwave, tea and coffee facilities and a fridge stocked with drinks. The staff speak French, English, German and Spanish. The Ancienne Ecole de Montvilliers is a 15-minute drive from the Aime La Plagne TGV Train Station.

“It was part of a romantic trip home and it didn’t disappoint.”
Location is breathtaking and team were so friendly and welcoming. We shared our trip with 8 German bikers and they too were total gentlemen. We were on the top floor and the property had an honesty bar which enabled us to relax on the balcony with a wine.

“Beautiful gite, lovely hosts, great food”
The gite is beautiful, hosts are very welcoming and helpful, the food is DELICIOUS and Lenny the dog is wonderful. It is about 50 minutes walk away from montalbert, it’s a nice walk and Yves will give you a lift to/from at the start and end of the day. There is also a free shuttle bus several times per day. We liked the option of having an evening meal or not each day (€25 per person for 3 courses and wine)

“Very comfortable place for skiers with extremely enchanting owners!”
Extremely charming owners, that welcomed us with a smile, a smile that we never saw disappear during our whole 7 days stay! Aside from the friendliness of the owners, we found it very comfortable that we could use a half-board option (breakfast and dinner). Enjoying the dinners of Yves after a day of skiing was just what we needed! Another big advantage of staying with them: they offer a shutlle service to the Ski Station of Montalbert (5 - 10 minutes drive from their place), so we didnt need to use our own car and we could avoid losing time with searching a parking spot. Also, they can offer you a discount card for your skipass!

We stayed in the Gite Auberge for 5 days. The location is great, close to many hiking routes, the rooms are very comfortable with great views , the breakfast is very good, the dinner was always surprising but most of all the attention and hospitality made us feel at home. We will sure to come back.
