Just 500 metres from the centre of Aigen in the Mühlviertel region, Biergasthaus Schiffner features a traditional Austrian restaurant, with over 150 different beers from around the world served by a beer sommelier. “Großzügig. Großartig. Fein und heimlich.”
I made an exceptional experience during my stay at Biergasthaus Schiffner. Starting from the arrival, check-in and warm welcome were highly professional, friendly, polite and with top hospitality attitude. The parting is spaceful and safe. My room was located on the first floor with huge balcony and the town view. There are extra chairs and umbrella for the sunny days. Shower and WC are new and very clean. Utilities are build of good stones, furniture is fresh and stylish. Lovely green chair is like on the advertisement picture. I could feel the care and guest-loving attitude in every detail of the interior as well as in the attitude of hosting Family. Location is central, on the hill between famous Stift (the Abbey) and the down town. What you can find along the walk: Local museum, brewing factory with restaurant and lake, the Abbey and flowers exhibition, horse riding option. Specialties: Biergasthaus is famous for its own view brewing and festivals. The family owned gasthaus and own local brewing give the feeling of cosy, familiar and reliability. Kitchen is open till 20.00 and offers tasty dishes. Breakfast starts at 7.30. As I had to leave earlier, Schiffner Family made an exception and offered me an earlier breakfast and hot drinks. I made an incredible, very positive and memorable stay at Biergasthaus Schiffner. And I am sure that being in Upper Austria next time, I would choose this Gasthaus again!

Very close to both Schlägl and Aigen , complete breakfast with veggies and spreads , very large room with a nice view from the terrace
