“One of the best local villas we’ve ever stayed at in Ahangama”

We loved our long stay at Greenjay Villa. The house was super cosy, with all 3 rooms having great beds and their own air conditioning. The kitchen was big and complete, and there was a lot of room inside the house. The garden was beautiful and very well maintained. The WiFi was mostly fast and reliable. We also loved our cleaning lady, whom we paid a bit extra once per week. They also left us a stock of water bottles which we could use and pay for at the end, this was amazing as it eliminated the need to do shop runs. Also, the property had two entrance gates, which made it super accessible from the road, especially on bikes. It is next to the train track, but far enough for it not to be disturbing. There are some monkeys and other animals around at times, but they were never noisy. The neighbours were always friendly, and we were constantly going to Hungry Puppet, which is within walking distance, for very cheap food and sometimes to work, as they have Starlink. The owner was always very responsive and acted quickly when we had any requests. He even got us a desk for working in one of the rooms (now 2/3 rooms have desks); the third is too small for one.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Andy and Jamila’s villa. Communication with Andy was excellent from start to finish, everything went very smoothly. He kindly arranged our airport taxi, and we easily agreed on having breakfast served every morning for a reasonable additional cost. A huge highlight of our stay was Jamila, who took such great care of us throughout our time there, both with housekeeping and breakfasts. Every morning she prepared a delicious and generous breakfast: a large bowl of fresh fruit, eggs, banana pancakes… everything was always freshly made and absolutely delicious. Jamila was also great company and truly made our stay even more special. The villa itself is beautiful and set in a stunning environment. The garden is gorgeous and extremely well maintained by Jamila. The villa is very spacious, which is a real plus, and it is now equipped with air conditioning in all three bedrooms. All rooms are very well equipped, including mosquito nets. They even kindly bought a mosquito net for the baby cot before our arrival for our 18-month-old baby, which we really appreciated. There is also a washing machine available, and Jamila helped us with laundry almost every day for a small extra fee, which was very convenient. Breakfast is served in the kitchen at the agreed time, making everything very comfortable and easy. Overall, a perfect stay with wonderful hosts, a beautiful villa, and outstanding service. We highly recommend this place and would happily come back again!

“Huge house equipped with everything you need”

We had the best stay. It is really a huge villa with everything that you need. The rooms are spacious, you have hot water if needed, a full equipped kitchen and a big living room. It is super clean, the host is very nice and helpful (he also provides water bottles for you) and the location is also really good as it is in a really quiet area without the noise of the main road but still close to the beach and to everything you need. Would definitely book it all over again.

Our stay at Villa Greenjay was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to the incredible hospitality of our host, Jaya. Right from the start, Jaya went above and beyond by picking us up from the airport in Colombo in his own car, which was a lovely personal touch. Upon arrival, we were greeted with refreshing watermelon juice, courtesy of his helper, setting a welcoming tone for our stay. Jaya's generosity continued throughout our visit, as he shared delicious mangoes and coconut water from his own house with us, a gesture that made us feel truly at home. The villa's location is simply perfect, nestled conveniently near Ahangama and Weligama. For those keen on surfing and exploring the local cafes, you'll find the villa ideally situated. However, do consider renting a scooter or a bicycle for easy transportation, as it enhances the experience of exploring the nearby areas. As for the amenities, Villa Greenjay didn't disappoint. The WiFi connection was fantastic, ensuring we stayed connected whenever needed. The rooms were spacious and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. Additionally, the villa boasts a living room, which is a great space for unwinding after a day of adventures. The pictures don't do a good job of showing you how much space you're getting inside and outside the house. For the price he is offering, you don't get as good a deal in the area. One of the highlights of our stay was the wildlife we encountered. Seeing peacocks and monkeys in our front yard added an exotic and exciting element to our experience. I cannot speak highly enough of the helper at the villa, who was incredibly nice and maintained the highest standard of cleanliness throughout our stay. I highly, highly, highly recommend Villa Greenjay. Whether it’s the hospitality, location, amenities, or the overall experience, everything about our stay was remarkable.
