From the moment we arrived we knew we had found somewhere special. Anosha is the most wonderful, kind and generous host. We felt like we were staying at a friend’s place. The rooms, food, location, pool and staff are all perfect.

A small private hotel, perfectly quiet with everything close by. It really felt as you had the entire hotel to your self with your own beach chair pool and chef. We felt waited on and had the most relaxing time.

Amazing food, team and location. We were extremely well looked after by the friendly and attentive team. The food and service was outstanding - delicious fresh salads, seafood, wraps, smoothies etc, creative and varied daily specials. Very comfortable beds and sun loungers. Fantastic location - right on the beach. Beautiful trees and grass, and swimming pool, making it a cool and relaxing place to spend the day by the beach.

“Great small property on the beach”

Amazing place on the beach. The staff and hosts were very attentive and went out of their way to make our stay amazing. It's a small property with 5 rooms and large open spaces, including a great beachfront garden to chill. The food was great too, they have a nice menu which includes locally inspired dishes, great seafood and vegan options. We also took surf lessons and did yoga and Muay Thai, which are offered as optional extras. Overall great place and we loved our stay!

We absolutely loved our stay at Solas Surf ♥️ Anosha and her team (and Jane :)) were incredibly friendly, attentive, and at the same time wonderfully relaxed – we instantly felt comfortable and at ease. The value for money here is great and we had such a wonderful, relaxing time. In our opinion, Solas Surf is the best hotel along Kabalana Beach by far. The property itself may be small but it is beautifully maintained and surrounded by lush greenery. With only four rooms, it feels peaceful and wonderfully private. Everything is spotless and thoughtfully designed. The location is ideal for those who prefer a quieter setting. The beach right in front of the hotel is beautiful, and there are several lovely restaurants, cafés, and a spa within walking distance (we can recommend Sisters, Veda Café, and Soba Spa). It’s the perfect spot to unwind and slow down, yet only a 20-minutes walk or a short tuk-tuk ride from the busy town center with all the trendy cafés and restaurants. We stayed in a first-floor room with a large shared balcony and were super happy – spacious, clean, sufficient storage, and you can even fall asleep to the sound of the ocean ♥️ Breakfast was simple but fresh and tasty, and our lunch at the property was excellent. The team was always attentive and kind without ever being pushy or intrusive – a rare and much-appreciated balance. We also joined a yoga and muay thai class offered by the hotel and very much enjoyed the acitivities and found them reasonably priced. Especially the muay thai class with Kush was so much fun - he‘s a great teacher. We’re currently staying at a 5-star hotel that costs significantly more, and honestly, we wish we were back at Solas Surf. A wholehearted recommendation from us – we hope to be back one day. “Amazing quiet gem in Ahangama”

This is truly a hidden gem in Ahangama - this was by far the best stay in Sri Lanka! Feels just like home (like a luxury beach home ;) ). The first thing I loved was the fact that it is a quiet place despite it being in a convenient location close to restaurants and shops. You can actually sleep while listening to the waves (but without the traffic noise like in other places). The architecture is impressive, the breakfast is good, the Wifi is good for some remote work if needed, the access to the beach is convenient while you can still enjoy the private garden. The gem of the place is the people working here that make you feel like home: the owners are very kind, the personnel is very attentive to all your needs and you can get the best Yoga classes right in the garden shalla thanks to the kindest yoga teacher, Francesco. Not forget, you will get unconditional love from Jane, the dog creating the magic at the property. The beach is probably the best around for swimming, there are no rocks and the sand is super soft. If I come back to Sri Lanka, this would be the first place to return.

The staff, the cleanliness, the breakfast (and the sourdough), the views - everything was immaculate. The pool is extremely well maintained - to the end that swimming in it felt like a natural pool than. The beach right outside was perfect for a refreshing swim. Anosha is a splendid host. Anyone looking for an amazing stay - book this little piece of heaven right away.

The entire stay was excellent, we loved our time at the property. The owner went above and beyond with plan with my wife to make my birthday special. The cake and over all the food was awesome. Thanks a lot.

The facilities were excellent and the property is very private. From the time we arrived the staff and the host looked after us very well. We ate most of our meals at Solas as we didnt want to leave the place, and the food was very good. We also took surf lessons and the in-house surf coach was excellent and very professional. The villa also offers massages and that was an added option and made us relax more. Overall very satisfied with our stay.
