the banana bread was amazing! very accommodating staff and owners are friendly and passionate about what they do and Sri Lanka is just a vibe also! They have a shop on site as well and the food is lovely

Black Honey is the perfect get away in a quiet location. The coffee shop was also a lovely touch, being able to grab a morning coffee and croissant on the go. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We would definitely come back again. Thank you to Jane who was also a huge help whilst we were there! ❤️

“Best stay in my month in Sri Lanka.”

Everything about Black Honey was excellent. The room was very comfortable and well designed with huge sliding doors connecting to the balcony overlooking the paddy fields; a real bonus with its fridge & kitchenette. The pool was cleaned daily. The location away from the busy centre of Ahangama was peaceful, and the wifi was super fast (I did have to do some work!) The food and coffee was some of the best I had in Sri Lanka. The staff and hosts were great, I’d highly recommend staying here.

We loved everything about staying at Black Honey, the host Jane was fabulous from us arriving! The food in the cafe is the best and the room itself was just beautiful. They had everything we needed and more. They even did our laundry which was a huge bonus. My partner and I said we’d both come back to Sri Lanka just to stay here 😊

“Gorgeous location and coffee lovers paradise”

The location is stunning and it was nice to be slightly out of town where it is quite hectic. I saw beautiful birds and it was cool to be able to just walk downstairs and get amazing coffee in the morning. The hosts were so helpful and were easy to contact at all times, and helped me arrange anything I needed. The rooms are gorgeous too.

Beautiful location, a little tuk or walk from town but that’s what makes it relaxing. The food is incredible, especially the new items on the menu and great coffee too

The property is beautiful in the rice paddy fields, rooms are spacious and clean and have a nice balcony space. The owners regularly check that you are Comfortable and enjoying your stay.

The room was lovely and very comfortable, great shower, lovely spacious balcony. The location was beautiful and very peaceful, a short distance from cute food spots, some bars and Kabalana beach. Some staff were extremely helpful and even went to rescue her phone after the night she lost it.

“What an amazing place!”

Set with rice fields all around, the views are incredible. A feeling of being in a much more remote spot when really you are only a couple of minutes away from the beach. The staff were warm, welcoming and informative. The welcome drink was delicious. The room was fabulous, great size, clean and modern. The bed was massive and so comfortable! The balcony was a lovely place to sit with a drink while looking out at the scenery. The Cafe has a great vibe and stunning food. I would recommend the granola bowl and also the avocado, eggs on toast. We met the owner and got to hang out with their dogs (Second Dog was our favourite). We are definitely going back.

We loved our beautiful rooms, fantastic bathroom and had an amazing breakfast each morning. Huge balcony with facilities if you wanted to make your own food. The outdoor area by the cafe is also fantastic and had bean bags and a clean pool for relaxing by the day. The hotel was very quiet so we had an excellent nights sleep! 10 min drive to Ahangama so great location

“Nice peaceful comfortable stay!”

Friendly helpful staff with good vibe and cool cafe with delicious food! Nice room and decor, comfy bed and just out off the hustle but still very close to town. Didn’t realise from the photos but the bathroom has access to outside so keep bathroom shut to prevent mosquitos :)

Loved the vibes, the setting on the paddy field is beautiful and serene, the food and coffee are so good, the rooms are so cute, spacious and clean! Really well designed! The shampoo is DIVINE! Lovely, friendly staff! Only very minor issue was that the pool was littered with leaves the day we arrived. It didn't make for an inviting dip, however, I did see the clean it the next day. I saw the staff cleaning everything else really well!
