Those who rent this place should do so knowing that the bathroom is on the lower level and the bedroom is in the loft upstairs accessible by way of a spiral staircase. We were able to manage this, but those with mobility challenges would find this setup difficult.

“Relaxing Paradise with Sloths and a Stunning Volcano”

What an amazing place! The cottage is easy to reach, yet you feel completely immersed in nature. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need, and the complimentary coffee was such a treat. Sitting outside, you overlook the beautifully maintained garden, and the host, Anna, even lets you know when sloths are spotted in the trees—a truly unique and wonderful touch! In the area, we loved relaxing in the thermal baths, hiking up the Miravalles Volcano (challenging but so rewarding!), and visiting Rincón de la Vieja. We also took plenty of time to simply unwind, which fit perfectly into our travel plans. On our way there we passed by Rio Celeste, another absolute highlight and well worth a day trip.

Ana is a fantastic person with a big heart and lots of knowledge about plants and flowers in the surrounding area. We were so lucky to have a sloth in the trees and and could even watch the armadillo in the garden. The colorful birds were just amazing. A great place to stay and calm down. Thank you Ana!!!

Great rural location. Accommodation is well equpped. Garden is a green oasis. Best accessed by car but can take bus from Loberia and ask bus driver to stop outside Greenhouse Lodge. Ana the host is very helpful. As we didnt have a car, she arranged for a taxi to take us to the local hot springs and also to Upala bus station so that we could then catch bus to La Fortuna.

The hostess was wonderfull. She looked after us, offered us plants from her vegetable garden. We even got treated to the visit of a sloth on her property.

beautiful settling . the ponds are full of interest and to wake up to toucans and cuckoos in the trees is a special thing . the casita is very comfortable and private. and very well appointed . spotless and the host Ana was very friendly .

These people are thiefs (told my husband they threw away his $200 electric toothbrush, when they obviously stole it!) The house cannot fit more than 3 people. The owner raised the price by mail after our reservation adding the booking.com fee that they owed to our price. To top it off, the main bed was infested with an ants nest. Needless to say we left after one night. Don't go here!!!!
