“Disappointing”

The little 'guest house' on the pictures is actually the hosts' house and a family couple lives there. The house consists of only two small rooms – living/kitchen and bedroom, and two bathrooms. The host couple is renting their bedroom (w/h adjacent bathroom) and moving to the living/kitchen when they have guests. The living/kitchen is an open space - no door to separate it from the small corridor situated between the two rooms. Guests cannot touch anything in the bedroom – all bedroom furniture is full of hosts' cloths and guests have at their disposal a double bed and only one chair. There is also a small refrigerator full of beverages for sell at high prices. Guests are not allowed to put anything in the refrigerator. There are no even hangers in the bedroom and we had to leave everything on the floor. Location is in the middle of nowhere. Badly maintained, single track road leads to the house which is situated in the middle of an agricultural area. No proper street with a street number. Difficult to find the house, especially at night. We had to wait 20 min on the main road for the host to come for us and we had to follow his car to the house. Guest are allowed to use the kitchen which is situated in the (small) living room. As the hosts were all the time in the living/kitchen, we didn't feel comfortable using the kitchen in their presence. We stayed in four different places in Sicily for the same price. All of them were great except this one. Overall: Unexpectedly bad experience. Lack of comfort. Lack of privacy. No value for money. NOT RECOMMENDED.

“An incredible and idyllic haven.”

This is a really fantastic find. It is situated in a national park with stunning views. The town itself is perched high on top of mountain. The accommodation is excellent and to be honest it was difficult to get ourselves out the lovely comfortable bed to have our excellent breakfast. What makes it even better is you can also have lunch and dinner. With views of Mount Etna from the town and views over the the lake it is a place of outstanding beauty. Put all this together with incredible hosts and you have the perfect place to stay. We were so well treated and made to feel at home straight away. There was nothing that was too much trouble. Such a lovely couple. We personally have never been treated so well and we have stayed at many a 5 star hotel. You will really enjoy this place which is off the beaten track. There is no doubt we will be back for a longer stay. It's actually worth making a trip to Sciliy just to stay here. Absolutely unique.
