Overview
Located right on the beach of Agia Roumeli, the family-run Gigilos Hotel offers rooms with a private balcony overlooking the Libyan Sea. It has a seaside restaurant-café and sunbeds on the beach. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the premises. Gigilos' rooms are bright, and feature wood furnishings. Each room includes a mini fridge and air conditioning, TV, hairdryer and an en suite bathroom with shower. At our Gigilos restaurant-café, guests have the option of having their breakfast, a coffee or delighting in traditional Cretan flavours prepared with fresh, local products. The village of Agia Roumeli is accessible either by walking down the Samaria Gorge or by ferryboat from Chora Sfakion, Sougia or Paleochora.

Gigilos was perfect for our stay. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, our rooms were very clean and comfortable with views of the beautiful azure blue sea. The food in Gigilos restaurant was delicious, service great and it’s perfectly positioned for coming in by ferry or through the Samaria Gorge. I’d highly recommend staying here.

“A perfect stay after hiking Samaria Gorge”
After hiking the Samaria Gorge, we simply couldn’t make the last 3 km — we called the owner, and he kindly came to pick us up. That gesture meant the world to us! We loved our room and the beautiful sea view. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We especially enjoyed dinner at their restaurant — the view, the service, and the traditional Greek food were all top-notch. The hotel is right on the beach, less than a 2-minute walk from our room. We spent the whole day by the sea, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The water was warm enough to swim, even in early May

“Wonderful stay and relaxation after a walking trip. Were able to enjoy the village and Samaria gorge from Agia Roumeli.”
Right on the seafront with superb views of the sea and mountains. We were warmly welcomed and given lots of local information. The gorge had been shut so we came via ferry from Sougia (after taxi from Omalos), which was a great, but we walked to the entrance of the gorge in the evening which was well worth the effort.

My stay at Gigilos Hotel could not have been better. The hotel is immaculate, spotless clean, very confortable, in the best location, on the beach. Amazing! The owner and stuff are very friendly , welcoming, and helpfull. They have also a very nice restaurant, with a big terrace with sea view, with very good and tasty food and wine. I really recommend this hotel and the restaurant too!! Thank you very much!!

Loved it from the moment I arrived. Was given room on arrival (11 am) also allowed to use facilities on last day till ferry left (17.30) Beach and restaurant staff always helpful and courteous. Thanks for all the tips on food choices guys. As a solo traveller I was made very welcome and never felt alone.. I will be back.
