Great location, gorgeous grounds, brilliant hospitality. They packed us early lunch for Addo and managed to make a vegan one too. We only really saw it at night as we came in late and left early, so cannot comment on anything else but we are sure it would have been lovely too.

Absolutely stunning lodge. Great food and Winston & team were a dream. Nothing was too big or small. Rooms gorgeous and pool was fantastic. Close to Addo (about 20 mins).

Winston was one of the best hosts we ever had. The rest of the staff was also super friendly and helpfull. Besides this the garden and pool were very beautifull and we felt safe during our stay. The breakfast was also very nice.

Not one complaint we have. Perfect bed, large room, lots of possibilities for breakfast, great garden, safe, and a super friendly staff who do very well in making feel the guest welcome. Tip for other guests for dinner: go to Molo Lolo, a place where they train ever so friendly and enthousiastic young men and women in the hospitality combined with a good kitchen in a very nice place.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this beautiful guesthouse and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, Winston welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home right away. The location is perfect, especially for visiting Addo Elephant National Park. It’s ideally situated for early morning game drives while still offering a quiet and relaxing environment. What made our stay especially memorable was Winston’s kindness and helpfulness. He was always available, gave great local recommendations, and made sure everything was perfect for us. We will definitely be coming back if we can and can wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming place to stay. Thank you for everything, Winston!

“Fantastic place”

Fantastic place exceeding expectations and wonderful breakfast ...especially the fresh orange as citrus farm on doorstep

The property is beautifully located between citrus trees with a very well maintained large garden. Staff are very friendly and helpful. You get to choose from different options (Eggs Benedict, Banana bread…) plus a buffet for breakfast. There is a pool which can be used and lounge chairs to relax on after a day of exploring Addo. It is very close to the main gate of the park.

A beautiful oasis with a lovingly maintained garden. Winston is a wonderful host – he makes you feel right at home. The specially prepared Sunday evening braai (barbecue) was delicious and very sociable. The room is also lovely. The pool was beautiful as well, and after our morning safari we were able to relax there with the children in the afternoon. The property is located in a secure area where we felt very safe. This place truly deserves its full 10 points.

“Perfect”

We had a wonderful stay at Hopefield! The garden is beautiful and Winston is an incredibly kind and attentive host. He helped us with booking activities and gave us great recommendations for restaurants. There is also an honesty fridge with cold drinks always available. Breakfast is freshly prepared every morning by the lovely ladies. If we ever visit Addo again, we would definitely stay here again!

“Fabulous”

Connie and Winston were amazing from when we first booked until we checked out. Hopefield is a fabulous b&b, beautiful rooms, gardens and relaxing areas. They booked our Addo and Schotia game drives for us and what an incredible day we had!. Breakfast was fab, all freshly cooked to order. Honestly I can't recommend this place enough.

The guesthouse is very well maintained and offers everything you need. Our room is very spacious and has a small terrace overlooking the garden. The breakfast left nothing to be desired. It is a pleasantly quiet place where you also have the opportunity to chat with the staff or other guests in a relaxed atmosphere. Winston is a great host and the staff are incredibly friendly.
