Overview
Offering daily game drives into Addo Elephant National Park, 8 km away, this Colonial-style house has 2 outdoor pools. With free Wi-Fi, its stylish rooms are in thatched cottages in the garden. Opening onto a private veranda or courtyard, each individually decorated room at Elephant House features a wooden ceiling. All are air conditioned and include a seating area with Persian rug. Breakfast is served daily and light lunches can be taken on the terraces or by a pool. In the evening, 3-course candlelit dinners are accompanied by Cape wines. 24-hour room service is available. Several covered terraces overlook the garden, each with sofas and antiques. There is a children’s play area and Club Room with a DVD player and games. Elephant-back safaris can be arranged. In the Sundays River Valley, Elephant House is 34 km from Kirkwood Golf Club. Transfers are available from Port Elizabeth Airport, 58 km away. On-site parking is free.

“An idyllic and magical place”
Everything - it was idyllic and brilliantly run. The garden cottages were spacious, beautifully and stylishly furnished and far enough apart for absolute privacy. Clive and his staff were welcoming, friendly and unfussily attentive and the whole experience was magical. Elephant House is so thoughtfully arranged with quiet corners everywhere and we couldn’t recommend it more thoroughly

“Pleasant.”

Beautiful old world charm. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. It was a last minute booking, but all our needs were met. A very restful place to be after a hard day's work. We will definitely stay there again. Very conveniently situated only 10 minutes from Addo Elephant Reserve main gate.

“My dream”
The communication from the hotel was clear and very friendly. The staff were very thoughtful, polite, helpful, and went the extra mile. This made a very good impression from beginning to end. The cottages were gorgeous…we loved them Proximity to Addo gate was perfect (10min by car) We had good weather and I enjoyed the pool in the early morning and late afternoon. Property very well maintained -looked after with love and commitment to excellence. Impressive. Very relaxing setting….perfect. I would love to come here again and stay longer. Highly recommendable.

“Amazing experience very close to Addo Elephant park”
The main house is beautiful with many lovely sitting areas and pools. Our little cottage on the other side of the property was situated in a big garden with another pool. It was very specious and comfortable - just the safe didn’t work and the door only stayed closed when you locked it. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast absolutely delicious. We booked some game drives which were all organized perfectly.

Wonderful old-style colonial house now a hotel, with three pools. The staff were wonderful. They even washed my car for me - no charge! The breakfasts were delicious by the pool and it’s super-close to Addo elephant park.

“Relaxing base to return to after safari’s.”
Very comfortable, old colonial style house with delightful deep verandas beautifully furnished. Lovely decor and very interesting photos adorn the walls. Staff very friendly.
