“Perfect”
Staff welcomed & cared for us like family with warm, open hearts. The balcony had beautiful views to wake up to of the mountains with local wildlife like deer & birdsong. There are steps to a private & pristine nature area with clear, clean flowing water for sitting or swimming. The manager Patun & owner Renuka were exceptionally kind & professional. The restaurant & housekeeping services were just wonderful. Good connections were offered for local tours to waterfalls & temples at great prices. Hotel location is a short journey to the pilgrimage climbing Sri Pada mountain. Outstanding value for money offering highly affordable accommodation. A large spacious double room with very good furnishings. Hot water & a quality bathroom. Thank you so much for having us. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

“Despite a few minor points, the property offers very good value for money.”
Abi welcomed us exceptionally well; he is really kind and attentive. The room is simple but comfortable, with a lovely balcony offering a beautiful view of the mountains. We appreciated being able to enjoy a late check-out—thank you for the flexibility!

“Great value, good facilities, exceptional service!”
Superb location for Adam's Peak and excellent value. Renuka was exceptionally good at communicating via WhatsApp and her staff, Abi and Pathun were fantastic throughout my 2 night stay. Abi is also a tuktuk driver and offers a nice afternoon trip to the Moray waterfall where you can swim. I was a solo female traveller and they were so respectful and helpful, cooked amazing food and prepared sandwiches for my hike and a takeaway breakfast for my early departure the next day. The room was very spacious and clean with a great hot water shower and big comfortable bed. The rooms also have a balcony with a view over the valley and a small garden with steps down to the river. This was one of my favourite stays in Sri Lanka and I really felt looked after! Don't be put off by the unfinished renovations of the upper floors...the actual facilities are simple but the service is exceptional!

“Cozy & Comfy Stay for before and after the Adam's Peak Hike”
The room I booked was spacious and comfy. Had a tea plantation view from the balcony and a clean bathroom. The owner lady was very welcoming and gave us tips to plan our journey to Adam's/Sri Pada Peak. You can order meals as your wish and after a tiresome journey you can have in-room dinning. The location is super close and you can park your vehicle at their parking and it's just around 750m walk to the to staring point of Adam's Peak Trial. Would recommend the place for the people who visit Adam's Peak.

We stayed here for one night so we could climb Adam's Peak. Abi gave us a warm welcome. The room was spacious and had a beautiful view. Abi also took us to a beautiful spot (with a waterfall) near the tea plantations where we could swim. Thank you for that! Dinner was delicious and after the hike we also had a hearty breakfast. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to climb Adam's Peak or just enjoy the beautiful nature!

Our room was huge! Lovely large bathroom with modern facilities and hot shower, a balcony overlooking a gentle stream. Abi, our host, was so kind and helpful, arranging a short trip via tuktuk to do some wild swimming nearby in the most amazing secluded spot. He also brought us herbal medicine and checked in when I was ill and had to stay an extra night. The food here is incredible, every meal was 10/10 - even catering to us both being vegan without warning. I can't recommend Queen's Ark enough!

“Nice place close to Adam’s Peak”
Once past the unorthodox entrance, the lower floors were very pleasant. Nice big room. Good food. Helpful owner. Nice staff. Good value. Would certainly recommend. Would have been nice to sleep longer, but my choice to climb Adam’s Peak so can’t blame them for that!

“For restless mind’s who want to do Adam’s Peak and have a good rest, fabulous food and comfort - Queens Ark is a perfect”
We loved everything about the place. Don’t get scared because first you will see cement walls and construction pillars, but it’s because the hotel is being renovated/rebuild and we can say that the end result will look fantastic. The rooms were spacious, clean, all sockets and switches worked, hot water - check, view to the rainforest - check, option to do laundry - yes, distance to Adam’s Peak starting point is ~10 minutes. The highlight of the stay was the staff, especially Abi, who was there 24/7 to answer all of our naïve tourist questions and to make sure that we have everything we need. The Sri Lankan cuisine was delicious.

“Basic but clean B&B with a plentiful breakfast”
I booked a room around midnight and came to the B&B at 0:30. A guy, who is responsible for this place was sleeping but arranged everything within 15 minutes. I went to the Adam’s peak early in the morning and got back at 7:30 for breakfast. The breakfast could be arranged for an additional 6$, which is fair for the amount of food you get. Queens Ark is located 1 km away from the Adam’s peak hike start point.

“A great stay before the stairs”
We recommend staying at Queen’s Arc before ascending to Sri Pada. We wanted to see the sunrise from the top, so we needed to start climbing at 02:00. The stay provided coffee and tea for us to drink before we began our trek, and they prepared a breakfast for us when we returned. They also helped us with our transportation back to Hatton. This stay is very close to the entrance of Adam’s Peak, and it’s a great option while in Nallathanniya. A special thanks to Habi for the excellent service.

The staff at this place are some of the kindest people i have had the pleasure of meeting. They made sure that we were comfortable at our time there. The food was amazing and we were never left without tea/coffee. If you are climbing Adam's Peak then you have to stay here.

“Good stay near Adams Peak”
Unfortunately, we were not able to stay at this property due to a hosts’ unexpected event. We would like to have been informed a little earlier, but understand that it may have not been possible. Nonetheless, the host’s family arranged a night for us in a nearby hotel and everything went okay. You can walk from the accommodation to the start of Adams Peak/Sri Pada trail.

During our Sri Pada hike, we descended to Nallathanniya from Udamaliboda , completely exhausted and drenched from the heavy rain. It was quite late in the evening when we made our booking, but the host was extremely supportive and gave both my sister and me a warm welcome, which we truly appreciated. The room exceeded our expectations spacious, clean, and equipped with hot water. The bathroom was also clean and tidy. We were able to get a good rest here after the long journey. The rate was very reasonable for two people. Highly recommended for any tired hikers looking for comfort and kindness after a tough trail.

“The perfect spot for restful nights and delicious food near Adam’s Peak”
Queens Ark is the perfect place to stay if you want to climb Adam’s Peak. The beds are very comfortable. However, you can hear some noise from the building itself, so earplugs are recommended if you are a light sleeper. The shower and toilet are excellent, and everything is spacious and spotlessly clean. The owner is incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely interested. We even played a game with him. Don’t be put off by the entrance: like many buildings in Sri Lanka, the hotel is partly under construction. You have to walk through what looks like a construction site, but once inside, everything is perfectly arranged. We had dinner at the hotel twice, and the food was delicious – especially the curry. Breakfast was great too, with a tasty omelet. Tips for climbing Adam’s Peak A warning: do not attempt the climb during the weekend. We encountered a traffic jam close to the summit and had to turn back after three hours. If you notice a traffic jam (ask people coming down when you are near the top), take the detour at the large Buddha statue to the right. This will add about twenty minutes to your climb but will bring you straight to the summit. The main route leads to the temple first, not directly to the top. Tip: you can easily find the detour route on the Maps.me app. We left at 2:15 a.m. and took about 3.5 hours to reach the top. Bring some toilet paper and a warm sweater. You don't need to carry too much water, as you can buy it along the way. After returning, Nimal prepared a wonderful breakfast for us, and we enjoyed four hours of well-deserved sleep. In the evening, we had another delicious meal. Highly recommended

“Best host in Sri Lanka! Loved our stay.”
The best thing about this hotel is the owner, Nimal. Such a friendly guy and will go out of his way to ensure you have a great stay. It was school holidays and his family were around. It really felt like a friendly home stay! His wife cooked us the most delicious curries with chicken, Dahl, pappadam, coconut sambal, vegetables- prepared for our late arrival on first evening and we ate in their lovely colourfully decorated dining area. Dinner was so good, we asked for it again next night! Breakfast was also delicious with tropical fruits, eggs, roti, toasts, fresh squeezed juices etc. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. It’s only a short walk to start of Adam’s Peak trail. We were there during Sri Lankan NY holidays (April). Was so busy with local religious pilgrimage (scores of busloads) that we decided not to climb. Not our kind of walking- we like nature and tranquility. Instead, Nimal suggested a walk through tea plantations and to see two beautiful waterfalls. It was so scenic and incredibly peaceful and it surpassed the thought of fighting crowds trying to get up Adam’s Peak. My sons even had a swim. The area itself is just incredibly beautiful and worth visiting!
