We had an amazing stay at the Pine Tree Hotel. Chathu and his family were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel at home from the first moment. For a very fair price he kindly took us to the breathtaking Laxapana Falls — one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever seen. Along the way, he showed us local plants like cinnamon, turmeric, and coffee, which was fascinating. We enjoyed a refreshing swim at the waterfall, delicious Kottu for dinner, and Chathu even drove us to the start of the Adam's Peak hike at 2:30 a.m. The breakfast was excellent too. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Adam’s Peak and Laxapana Falls!

“Perfect for one night near Adam’s peak”

The host is very warm and welcoming. It is the perfect location for a one night stay if you’re climbing Adam’s peak (~20 mins drive to base). The accommodation has hot water which was much appreciated after our hike. The food was excellent and would recommend having dinner and breakfast here

Lovely heartwarming people who go above and beyond to give you the best experience. In hindsight I really feel like I tipped too little for the amazing care they had for us. We had some delicious meals and we even got dropped off at the start of Adams peak in the middle of the night. Thank you!

Very nice comfortable room and bathroom. The shower had great water pressure and shampoo and conditioner was provided! The staff were very nice and accomodating, the host even gave us a ride to the start of Adam’s Peak early in the morning. Very nice dinner and breakfast. Very nice balcony and view onto the forest / lake opposite.

The family is so welcoming and friendly. We felt at home, they are incredibly nice and helpful. We spent new year's eve there and it was one of our best thanks to them ! We hope to come back !

The hosts were amazing and made life easy. Very cosy terrasse to read enjoying the sun. Take a walk in the afternoon to enjoy the view of the lake and see the temple. Helpful familt to go to Adam s peak which is about 13 min away by car. Good for a one night stay. Waterfalls not so far away by car.

We had the best food there during our stay in Sri Lanka. Definitely try the rice and curry, it’s simply outstanding. Also the entire family is super friendly, Chathu‘s father drove us to the start of the Adam‘s Peak Hike in the middle of the night and also to Hatton after the hike because the public busses were to crowded to get in. Also Chathu‘s wife is super friendly and made us feel at home, even after she came back from her work. The terrace is a super place to hang out and to get a little rest just before starting the climb of Adam‘s Peak.

The place was wonderful. It was clean and gorgeous. The large balcony with a tremendous view was something we didnt expect at all. The hoster is very friendly and always happy to help. BBathrooms were really luxurious, clean , and with hot water. Bed was comfortable. Meals were tasty too. As final thoughts, the stay was joyful, calm and satisfied. It was very valuable for money (I got two discounts - one for genius , one for mobile device)

I was given lovely tea and biscuits on arrival. Chattu was very helpful with my luggage. The location is perfect if you're planning to do Adam's Peak. Dinner was prepared for me on request and it was very tasty and generous. There is a lovely deck that you can relax on that's perfect for warmer weather.

A nice guesthouse in a beautiful and green environment with a large terrace to relax. We had a comfortable bed, the room was clean and we had a hot water shower (which was nice since it can get cold here at night). They offered us free tea and cookies and prepared a nice dinner for us.

This very clean homestay is located at a beautifull and quit place ( and very near to adams peak). We had a great breakfast ( try the sri lankan one !) and our diners at the homestay were also delicious. The owner does everthing to make the clients feel at home at his homestay ! The owner - young guy Chathu is a fantastic host experienced in tourism industry, its a homestay where the family stays downstairs and we have the top all for us with 3 large rooms attached bath rooms with hot water and an extra-large open balcony area to chill, work, read overlooking the water tank through the pine forest, chatus families coking ability is expectational!!! ask for the traditional srilankan rice breakfast and you wont regret, and they do fantastic BBQs, ask chathu for the sight seeing he will take you or direct you, one of our team members got down with his own medical condition and the family came to rescue and send off the guy and his bicycle safely to colombo, all in all food & location was fantastic, safe and clean place for both local and international travelers
