“Great and calm place in the jungle with friendly staff”

Warm welcome at arrival. The staff is always happy to help. The food was really good and more than enough. A really beautiful location in the middle of the jungle. It was my birthday during our staying and they surprised me with a private little party which was very thoughtful.

Very accommodating host ,Kumar looked after us very well. ;An isolated location in the Jungle, The roads sadly had been damaged during storms earlier in the year, so exciting jeep journeys were needed to reach the Reserves. The food was very well presented and delicious Guest appearance from a local elephant was an added bonus.and the variety of birds in the camp was another treat

“Wilpattu Magic”

Everything. Location was very quiet and secluded. The room we had was excellent and the pool area was fantastic. Wildlife around the resort was awesome with monkeys, crocodiles in the lagoon and birds aplenty!!! Kuma and his staff were very attentive to our needs and provided exceptional customer service, always happy to help with anything we needed. They arranged a fantastic tour of Wilpattu NP, with a great lunch provided. Thank you Kuma for a wonderful stay. I would recommend your accommodation to anyone travelling to Wilpattu NP.

The staff and manager Kuma were really welcoming and attentive. The rooms were lovely and very in keeping with the safari theme. The pool was stunning and a great place to hang out.

This beautiful resort was the perfect stay near Wilpattu. Very remote and peaceful, surrounded by nature including watching monkeys from the pool! We stayed in the private suite, which was lovely and newly refurbished with everything you need. The staff were amazing and catered to every need - sorting our safari for us and cooking delicious meals. Kuma was particularly attentive and hospitable and made sure we had the most wonderful stay. We would recommend this to anyone who would like a quiet escape in nature with the best hosts!

“Amazing stay in the wild with perfect hosts”

Wow a fantastic stay from start to finish. Kuma and his team were amazing hosts. We were looked after very well, food was brilliant, even the takeaway meals. When we arrived they bought tea to the room which was a lovely touch. Great at helping us organise transport and safari. Room was very spacious and comfortable, cool at night. The room was near the lake which was a lovely view in the morning sun, occasional crocodiles we saw in the water too which was fun experience! Really feels like you’re in the wild.

“Amazing stay in the middle of nature close to Wilpattu National Park”

We stayed at Raalmadu for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. It’s a beautiful place in the middle of nature and rice fields, surrounded by wildlife; crocodiles, elephants, monkeys, dogs, peacocks, cats and cows. The pool is stunning and fits perfectly into the peaceful natural setting. At night you fall asleep to the sounds of the animals around you. Do be aware that the accommodation is in the middle of the bush, so there are insects, noises and rustling, but for us that was part of the adventure and we loved it. The staff and Kuma were incredibly kind and helpful. We also had amazing Sri Lankan food for dinner and breakfast, highly recommended!

“Comfortable stay close to Wilpattu”

We really enjoyed our stay in the jungle at Wilpattu. Very clean and spacious room with an amazing pool with views on the green surroundings. Kuma is a great host and the chef prepares amazing local dishes. If you want a jungle experience with good comfort we definitely recommend

We had a wonderful stay at Raalmadu Wilpattu. The safari experience was absolutely amazing, and the natural surroundings made it truly special. The hotel manager, Kuma, took excellent care of us and always made sure we felt welcome and looked after. The room was simple and rustic, but that’s exactly what you would expect in the middle of the jungle — it added to the charm and authentic feeling of the place. The only small downside was that the private pool next to our room wasn’t usable at the time. However, they are currently building a larger pool, and we are sure it will be fantastic once it’s finished. Overall, we can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique jungle experience with warm hospitality and unforgettable safaris!

“Pictures induce very high expectations which can not quite be met”

The best part was definitely the kind manager Kuma Malawana 10/10 service and customer orientation. The welcoming in the evening with their jeep to take us the last 5km in the facility was super nice and we even spotted an elefant family. The private room was very roomy and looked as the pictures indicate. The food was very tasty and well presented, although always served cold which was a slight bummer.

“Highly memorable stay!”

Great remote and peaceful location with wildlife coming into the property at night (if you are lucky). Our room was very clean and comfortable. Kuma and the rest of the staff were very helpful in arranging our safari, travel logistics and food throughout our stay. They went out their way to make our time memorable. Highly recommended!

Absolutely perfect! Our stay was wonderful and everything was organized to perfection. Our host, Kuma, spoke fluent English and went above and beyond to arrange everything for us. The food was delicious, and the safari was organized down to the finest detail. After a good night’s sleep, we woke up to the sight of monkeys right outside our window! In the evening, Kuma even showed us the crocodiles by the lake. To top it all off Kuma brought us to the local city because we had issues with transportation. Truly an unforgettable experience — 10/10!

Our stay at Ralmadu Wilpattu Resort was very pleasant. The staff arranged an excellent full-day safari for us, and the property’s location right at the border of Wilpattu National Park made the experience truly unique. The rooms were fine. Unfortunately, there is a loud construction site right next to the hotel, which woke us up early in the morning and made it difficult to fully enjoy the surroundings. We regret that this was not mentioned in the property description. A special mention goes to the manager – an outstanding, helpful, friendly, and open-minded person who assisted us with everything we needed. A real highlight is the river jetty, perfect for relaxing and watching crocodiles. In the evenings, we enjoyed the incredible sounds of the jungle – we even heard elephants. On walks, you can encounter monkeys and many bird species. The on-site restaurant serves delicious traditional Sri Lankan dishes. We ordered a special Sri Lankan feast for lunch, which was truly exceptional. As for improvements, we would suggest better maintenance of the private pool by the room – the water turned cloudy after just one day. We understand that keeping it crystal clear in these conditions might be challenging, but we would have expected it to be cleaner.

“Unforgettable”

Everything about this place was amazing and unique. The hospitality was absolutely incredible. Kuma was an amazing host and took care of every detail.

“Amazing romote locations and hotel”

The place exceeded our expectations as a place, very remote and beautiful. We wish we had stayed longer as can really feel and hear the nature around hearing the elephants. Take beautiful walks and it’s just great. They helped booked a safari for us which was amazing however make sure you arrive in plenty of time as we were late due to the last mile of the road towards the hotel and keep 2000 rupees for the Tuktuk if going on safari. A tip if driving, don’t follow Google maps directly the locals take the second turning when driving to the hotel on the dirt road, which looks longer but is way better. Or contact the hotel before you arrive. Has fridge, kettle coffee etc and mosquito net over all windows which is great. The free cold filtered water was a nice touch. Nice to see glass bottles also being used as normally plastic in Sri Lanka. The food was also great

We stumbled upon Raalmadu Resort and ended up having the entire place to ourselves — a truly unexpected treat! The staff were incredibly kind and took the time to engage in lovely conversations while offering outstanding service. They genuinely went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Due to heavy rain, we had to take a detour to reach the national park entrance, but they made it easy — we simply got up earlier and took the scenic route. We arrived by tuk tuk, which was quite the bumpy adventure due to puddles and rough terrain, but totally doable and worth it. A big shout-out to the amazing staff — we had such a good time here. Highly recommended!
