“Awesome hosts and a top notch guest house”

The hosts (Nelson and Christine) were very hospitable. The rooms are large and very comfortable. There is parking nearby, restaurants and a couple of small mini markets.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the very first moment, always available and truly making you feel like part of the family. Communication was excellent, with very quick and helpful replies throughout the stay. Everything was spotless—the room and all common areas were maintained to a very high standard, which made the stay even more comfortable. What I loved most was the authentic rural charm of the house. It has a beautiful, traditional countryside atmosphere that feels both unique and very cozy. The kitchen is perfectly equipped with everything you might need, which is great if you enjoy cooking or longer stays. The village itself is peaceful and quiet, surrounded by nature—an ideal place to relax, go hiking, and disconnect from a busy life.

The accommodations are built in what looks to be an old building that has recently been renovated very well, with some of the original structures visible, which gives the place a certain charm. The hosts gave me tea and Christmas cake to warm me up!

I had to reserve the accommodation last minute, and the host was super flexible and friendly about it, truly guest-loving couple who live there too. The kitchen, bathroom are well-equipped, they even have a washing machine which I could also use. Also, if you are renting a car (highly advised), go for a local option, Auto Ramalhense, much friendlier than the big rental car companies and they didn't require any deposit.

Had a great stay, all the facilities were clean and cozy. Got to meet the hosts and they are super nice people! Great location with a lot of things to see, would definitely recommend!

The place itself was ok, a little bit noisy both from traffic on the street (especially cars picking trash in early morning) and also from people moving around in the other apartment that is above in the first floor.

Everything was super easy (self check in) and Nelson was a great host! He always replied very quick and answered every single question we had (even about restaurants, places to go, about the island in general)

Really lovely place, clean, all new and well equipped. Nelson was really helpful.

“Would not recommend anyone to rent this place”

Unfortunately it was impossible to like anything in this place, we rented a unit that said it was a 60 square meter apartment and we got a very small room (maybe 20 meters) with a yard that the owner considered the yard as part of the house. The stove made a lot of problems and we couldn't cook, there was no oven , the refrigerator without lighting we were required to pay for the towels (an absurdity we have not seen anywhere, and we travel all over the world) luckily a few days before the owner of the place informed us that we need to pay for towels and take a deposit before using them. (we brought towels from home with us) the toilet paper was enough For 1 day there was no coffee or tea service. It was like sleeping in a bathtub. There was always an unpleasant feeling everywhere in the unit! What is allowed and what is not allowed to do like children in kindergarten. The upper unit above us had no insulation and when people walked there the noise was terrible. You can go on in detail, but even writing and remembering is tiring and annoying

We had almost the entire house to ourselves and it was very quite throughout our stay. The location was nice too as it was very calming staying so close to the water!

Cheap, quiet.

The host is a very friendly person and offered me opportunities for actvities around the area. The accomodition ist very new and modern and i enjoyed my holiday so much.

Our stay was okay but I have to urge people to not book a room here as the owner stole our deposit, and did the same to a lot of other people (read the reviews here and on other travel websites. I hoped those people were just disgruntled customers and then the exact same thing happened to us.) The owner promised multiple times he would pay us back and never did. He went so far as lying to me about being hospitalised to explain why he hadn't payed us yet (he was posting on Facebook at the same time about being at a local restaurant and enjoying the lunch buffet). Some additional problems : the pillows and mattress were not very comfortable. The neighbour's dog is quite noisy. There was very little storage space for our stuff. And the people in the bedroom next to us had a very humid room with mold on the walls and ceiling. The owner told them it wasn't mold (Spoiler alert: I saw it. It was mold.), and refused to give them their money back when they left early because they were afraid for their health. In conclusion : save yourself some headaches and go elsewhere.

The facilities of the house

The stay was not bad at all, but then they keep the deposit using false arguments that you leave the room in poor condition and that you are not respectful, also ensuring that they send photos of the room (which they surely have previously taken to justify its theft before Booking). I do not recommend it for that reason, because they are not humble, they are liars and thieves. The site is passable, nothing exceptional either.
