“Good location, very expensive add ons.”

Our visit started off well when Ash from Habib Camp picked us up from the airport. We were shown to our rooms which although basic were pretty much as expected with ensuite bathrooms and aircon. Beds were a little hard and a bit weird having a duvet with no cover but sheets and pillowcases were clean.  Had a welcome drink and Ash offered us lunch which arrived about an hour or so later, nice but fairly basic meals of chicken or fish with rice and salad. We discussed our plans during our 1 night visit and Ash dutifully drove us to the temple for the sound and light show in the evening and then at 5am the following morning he drove us back to the temple for sunrise before driving us back to Habib Camp. We stopped off at a local shop en-route with Ash purchasing our supplies for us and us reimbursung him so we wouldn't be charged overinflated tourist prices, which was very kind.

“Perfect Paradise in Abu Simbel”

This place is a small paradise in Abu Simbel. With a view of Lake Nasser (where you can also swim), it offers a reprieve from the heat and the hectic life in Egypt. The host, Ash, was simply amazing. Kind, respectful. We got to talk a lot and know more about the Egyptian culture through him. I’m looking forward to coming back to Habib Camp.

“Nice, calm, like at home”

It’s calm place near lake fare away from civilisation. It’s was nice to sleep here. We had just 1 night, but it’s no voices, beautiful sunrise, calmness. We came with car and found this place fast.

Habib Camp is a maximum heart -warming place to stop in Abu Simbel! Location is super. The friendly host offers both transport and catering. We had a great experience! Ps. However, there is no Wi-Fi option, it should be taken into account.

This was the most quiet, nice and relaxing place we found in this trip - the hidden gem of Egypt. The owner Habib was the most friendly and hospitable person we met in Egypt. It is an AMAZING place (just would like to recommend Habib to put some stones in the way to his camp and paint them in white to be easier to find his place for those coming in their own cars specially at night. It was difficult to find but we found as he went out to meet us. Or maybe to put some wooden signs showing the way).

“Not a Camp, a Home Away from Home”

If you’ve come all the way to Abu Simbel, think of Habib Camp as an additional must-try in your itinerary. Full-on Nubian-influenced hospitality with a stunning lakeside setting and view of Jebel Shokha. Everything feels natural and not over-wrought, with just the right balance of traditional warmth and modern comfort. The owner, Habib, is the jewel in the crown - a constant presence, yet never intrusive. He knows when to tend to your needs, and when to stay out of your way and is an utterly lovely person to boot. And the food - wow, the food needs to be experienced to be believed. Just tell Habib your preferences, and you’ll have never go hungry!

The place is for me MAGICAL. It is far away from big hotels and a bit far away from everything (but close to the airport according to maps) BUT IT SO WORTH IT. The fact is that because it's a bit far it allows for calm, privacy, peace and a GORGEOUS landscape. I wish I could have stay one more night to enjoy this place more. I can't emphasize enough how rare it is in Egypt to find such a gem like that. I will definitively come back.

The staff was very friendly and very helpful. It was a peaceful and quiet area, with a great beach and beautiful views. My husband and I really enjoyed the delicious meals we had (breakfast and dinner).

We had an amazing time at Habib Camp! It was the most peaceful and relaxing place, only a 15 minute drive from the temple. The staff at Habib Camp were exceptional and extremely hospitable. From the very start they made sure we had everything we needed, and Habib (the owner) was so kind and made us feel like Habib Camp was our home. We want to also give a special shout-out to George and Abdul, who both worked so hard attending to our needs throughout our stay. Our trip to Abu Simbel temple was so special, but it wouldn’t have happened without the support and organisation from its amazing staff! Also a big thank you to the chef who cooked us some amazing, fresh food! If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing place to stay, I would highly recommend Habib Camp!
