“Basic central pousada with nice share house vibe”

The staff is the best, especially Heloisa ! She is super helpful, caring and efficient. The house has a shared house vibe that is pretty nice, easy to meet people and connect around a shared meal etc.

The location is amazing - in the hub of everything and very close to walk to and the staff were really lovely and helpful.

Location is great and the vibe. Everyone is very respectful and calm considering its 8 people rooom, had a great stay, met lovely and helpful people. Staff is also very attentive and present in the facility!

“This hostel feels like home!”

I spent a week at Hostel Papagaio and it was amazing. The location is perfect close to restaurants, bars, and travel agencies. Ilha Grande has so many incredible places to explore! Helo, Gi, and Lipe were wonderful hosts who made everything even better. The space is super clean, the kitchen is perfect for cooking, and there’s a great common area to relax and hang out with other guests. Can’t wait to come back soon! :)

Incredible hostel! The owners were so lovely and always happy to give tips about where to go and what to do. Kitchen was clean and organised and beds were comfortable. I felt super at home!

I really really recommend staying at hostel papagaio. It immediately felt like home, it is a very intimate hostel and the owners are just great hosts. It’s super clean and the common area feels like a living room, the kitchen is perfectly equipped and there is free coffee and if you are lucky snacks. I wouldn’t have left if I didn’t have to! Thank you so much for the amazing stay <3

“Too pricy for what you get”

Staff is friendly, the place is clean. There is water filter. The location is good. It’s fine for a short stay to explore a bit the island but I didn’t have a great experience because of electricity issues on the island.
